Restoring Data back from factory settings

My Royal Organizer (DM5070) displayed two options, 1 and 2 and in error I pressed the wrong button, which put the organizer back to the factory or original settings. When this occurred, all data was lost or erased. Is there any way to retrieve or recover this data? Thanks.

Unfortunately you can not retrieve lost data by yourself.

Is very unlikely to recover data once it has been erased from this organizer.
Once the device goes to factory default, everything in it is gone.
Sorry.

Your DM5070 has a 256MB memory which store all information inside it. When you chose the option restore factory settings it flashes the memory, erasing all information and restoring initial data. As far as I know there is no way to recovery your lost data on this pda.

As far as I know Active File Recovery 7.3 Build 101 Supports FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, NTFS5, NTFS+EFS file systems on Windows 98 / ME / NT / 2000 / XP / XP Professional x64/ XP Home x64 / 2003 Server x64 / Vista. I dont think there is a version for Royal dm5070 pda. Again: the memory has been flashed. It is a flash memory, not an hard disk or a magnetic support. If no backup has been done there should be no chance to recover lost data

When you select to put the unit to factory/original settings it wipes out everything (data). This applies to most electronic items.

If it was on a memory card then there would still be a small chance of recovering the lost data.

I have a ROYAL DM80nx organizer and need to know how to change the date and time on it.

press the time button and the press button at the bottom with a key on it. (it has 't.set' in grey writing just above). On the screen - at the top - the first letter should be flashing. To be honest I don't know what it means at the top but you can use the arrow keys to go navigate. The 1st line has the day at the right. The 2nd line has the date - YYYY - MM - DD. On the 3rd line is the time. A=AM, P=PM. HH - MM - SS (Seconds cannot be set but reset to 0 whenever the time is changed).

Tip

Visor Deluxe does not start

Hi.

The procedure below shows how to reset the PDA to factory settings after backing up all your personal data.
After backing up your data with HotSync, perform a hard reset, this will erase all applications and returns your device to its factory default settings.

To perform a hard reset:
1. Hold down the power button on the front panel of the PDA.
2. While holding down the power button, use a paper clip to press the reset button.
3. Release the power button.
4. You will get a message warning that you are about to erase all the data stored on the PDA, do the following:
Press the top scroll button on the front panel
to complete the hard reset and display the startup screen.
If you press any other button you will do a soft reset, that will not fix the problem. In that case restart the procedure.
5. After doing hard reset the unit will return to the initial factory state. All third party installed applications will be deleted, and setting will be reported to factor default.

.

Connect to HotSync and do a backup of the PDA, then do hard reset on Palm.

If the PDA is not detected by Hotsync, then there is an additional problem.

To troubleshoot problems given by third party application you do a backup, then rename the backup folder containing third party application data to Backup.old, and do hard reset.

After that you start restoring applications from backup.old one at the time, when one application jams the Palm, that is the responsible for the error message.

Procedure is described here.

Regards.

How do i hard reset the htc p4600?

This will wipe all the storage (not the sd card) and your device will be reset to default settings.
Hard reset (option 1)
  1. Pull out the stylus.
  2. With the device turned on, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and CENTER buttons, then press the RESET button with the stylus tip.
  3. Continue pressing the RESET, VOLUME DOWN and CENTER buttons until you see this message on the screen:
This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press ?VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.
Hard reset (option 2)
You can also use Clear Storage to reset your device back to factory default settings.
  1. On the ?TouchFlo3D Home screen, slide to the Settings tab and then tap All Settings or goto Start and press Settings.
  2. On the System tab, tap Clear Storage.
  3. Enter “1234” and then tap Yes.
Hard reset (option 3)
  1. Pull out the stylus.
  2. Turn device OFF.
  3. While pressing the CENTER button, turn the phone on with the POWER button.
  4. Continue pressing the CENTER button until you see this message on the screen:
This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press ?VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.
This works on at least some Verizon CDMA phones on which option 1 will not work.
Hard reset (option 4)
  1. Pull out the stylus.
  2. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and CENTER buttons, then press and hold the POWER button.
  3. Continue pressing the POWER, VOLUME DOWN, and CENTER buttons until you see this message on the screen:
This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press ?VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel. (works with Alltel touch pro)

Retrieve Password without losing data with Sharp Organizer

According to the YO-370 Operation Manual:

What To Do If You Forgot The Password -
When you have forgotten the passord for the SECRET function, you have to delete the password along with all secret data by selecting "DATA DELETION" from the Function menu. Once the password is deleted, a new password can be entered. Follow the procedure below to delete the password (and the secret data along with it).

1. Recall the Function menu (2nd, FUNCTION)
2. Select "3 DATA DELETION", and press v (3, v)
3. Select "3 SECRET DATA". (3)
The delete prompt "DELETE ? Y/N" appears
4. Press Y (To retain the data, press N)
When Y is pressed, both the password and the secret data are deleted, and the initial display for the previous mode in use will reappear on the display.

Samsung Blackjack display error

This is a fairly rare problem, but it does happen with the Blackjack and other Windows Mobile devices.

First thing to try is:

Start -> Settings -> Display -> Home Screen -> (your carrier) Default

If this option or no options are visible, attempt to move right or left a couple of times (if you are in the list mode, move up and down) and then hit 'OK'

If this does not work, you will need to do a factory restore on your device:

WARNING - Restoring the factory settings on your device may cause the loss of all of your data that is not stored on the memory card or backed up elsewhere. Please back up your data before doing a factory reset and remove your memory card during the procedure:

From within the Software:
1. Start -> Settings -> More -> SECURITY -> More -> Reset
2. Enter '0000' and hit 'OK'

From the Powered off state:
1. Power off the device
2. Hold down the 'UP' navigation arrow while pressing the power button.
3. You will be presented with a 'format' menu, hold

Good luck!
