Samsung dlp tv picture turns off sound stays on

Hello
Check whether the lamp life hours are going to be out. Refer to its user manual for details. DLP chips fault is very rare; unless you have handled them very carefully. Check the lamp and BALLAST baord that supplies voltage to lamp.

During our recent move we broke the screen of our Sagem Axium HD D56B DLP TV. Any chance to get this fixed here in the US?

Yes, contact service shops, they may have a junker they can sell you the screen off of. Take an approximate measurement for them so they can look for a screen.

Color wheel has broken and needs replacing

Hi Steve.
replacing the colour wheel is possible, you will need to strip out the light engine from the TV, and open it up to gain access to the colour wheel assembly. A replacement colour wheel is about £250 from sagem, although you can buy an equivalent wheel from the US for about £80.
Check on the avforums site in the RPTV section, there are a lot of helpful people who have replaced their colour wheels successfully.
Cheers

My Samsung 50" DLP HDTV keeps humming when the DLP lamp comes on.

Hi, you have one of two problems, either the color wheel is going or one of the cooling fans are going, the color wheels are a very common problem in samsung dlp`s, sorry I can`t nail it to a specific part but I`d bet it`s the color wheel as they are notorious for failing in samsungs, video-tek

Akai PT50DL24 50 in DLP Rear Projection TV-NO PIC OR SOUND

check for popped or raised tops on caps in power supply. also try unplugging set for 5 minutes and resetting it. How about does your color wheel spin up? if your color wheel don't startup then your tv will also shut down. also check all fans they all should be running at turn on. if all fails i would say its your light engine.

This is bad. You need to either be under warranty on these big screen TVs or get the service manual. Especially since this is an off brand.
