I had this very same isuue with also a 1GB Kingston card and music.

Everytime I reached about 200 or so songs on my card, the E2 would show message errors and/or crash.

The workaround was to use a SD card reader and stick the exact same music files into an folder named "AUDIO" or "Music".

It seems that although most music players running on the E2 have no problem reading sound files from a SD card, the SD standard has some issues as to the actual number of files it can manage that are stored on the root directory.

On a side note, I find it best to stick with 64 kbps when converting music files to use with my E2. higher bitrates tend to produce noise and/or skips when playing a file.

Try breaking things up into multiple folders to limit the number of songs it has to display at a single time.

What type om songs are to be loaded into SD card

Any type of digital file can be loaded to memory cards. Any type of audio, video, text or program.
If your mp3 files are not on the card, you are not transfering them properly. Use cut/paste or send to do this. The card should show up in your "My
Computer" drive list. If not, your reader is not seeing it and cant write to it. Win98 must have drivers loaded to see pen drives or memory cards.

Palm Tungsten E2 doesn't recognize SD Card Card Info states that no card is inserted Card inserted with device on Card inserted with device off No recognition Kingston 4 GB

The problem is simply that the Tungsten E2 cannot read SD cards larger than 1 GB. However, there is a solution that will enable it to read larger cards. A driver called PowerSDHC is available from PalmPowerups.com that will enable the E2 to read cards of any size. I'm now running an 8 GB SDHC card on my E2!

Trying to insert a 2gb expansion card into my palm

A lot of palm haldhelds only support SD cards up to 1gb. The 2gb and up ones are not supported. So check your manual and figure out waht the maximum size of sd card is in your palm, or try a smaller size SD card.
