Clear the CMOS in case of an emergency.

Although the BIOS usually runs without errors, it can become corrupt in rare instances. If you're unable to enter your BIOS, or if you set a system password in the BIOS but forgot it, you might be able to fix the problem by clearing the CMOS memory. On some motherboards, this requires you to turn off and unplug your PC, disconnect the CMOS battery for a few hours, replace the battery, and turn on your PC again. Other motherboards have a CMOS clear jumper pin that you must move to a temporary position and then return it to its original position. Check your motherboard's manual to see which process you'll need to follow.

If a clear jumper pin isn't available and temporarily removing the battery doesn't work, check the motherboard manufacturer's Web site for instructions about resetting the BIOS.

Motherboard won't recognize hard drive. won't book from windows 7 disc

Hello you have to enter the bios option to change the bootup settings.
Press the DEL or F2 button to enter the bios.
Next select the boot option, and make the DVD drive as first boot device, harddrive second.
Leave the bios by saving the settings you just made.

Place the windows disc in the dvd drive, and reboot.
The screen turns black, and a small text comes on top:
Press any key to boot from disk, use the space button.
Now the installation will start.
Remember to format the harddrive, when prompt.

The drivers can be downloaded here:

Boot mngr is missing

do you have the set up installation disk

Restart your computer with the Operating system Setup disk in the CDROM drive.

If you are prompted to press a key to start the computer from CDROM, do so quickly. Otherwise it may try to boot from the hard drive.

After a few minutes, you'll see a prompt to press the R key to start the Recovery Console. When Recovery Console starts, it will prompt you to enter a number corresponding to the Windows XP installation that you need to repair. In most cases, you'll enter "1" (which will be the only choice). If you press ENTER without typing a number, Recovery Console will quit and restart your computer.

Enter your Administrator password. If you don't enter the correct password, you cannot continue. At the Recovery Console command prompt, type fixmbr and then verify that you want to proceed. Your damaged MBR will be replaced with a shiny new one, and you should then be able to boot your system normally. In some cases, you may need to repair the boot sector in addition to the MBR. If your system still doesn't boot properly, repeat the steps above, but issue the fixboot command instead.

Hope this helps

I want to disable the system password on my dell computer

I assume that you have the password? Restart your computer. As soon as you see the dell screen, hit the f2 key. This will take you into setup. Look through the different menus and you will find the password options somewhere. You should be able to disable it there.
