Your iPod is covered for one year by Apple's Limited Warranty for iPod. Warranty service for eligible repairs is available at no charge for twelve months from the date of original retail purchase (”date of purchase”).

Try first to reset it.

Hi,

The booting problem of your ipod is due to most recent firmware upgrade. Take it to the Apple Store and even they will tell you that the updates are causing the iPods' battery to drain completely.

Apple Store will plug the iPod into a wall charger for about 30 minutes, and then it will come back to life. plugging the iPod in to a USB port does not provide enough current to bring the iPod back to life, and the only way to correct it is to plug it into the wall charger (not provided with iPod, of course).

Goodluck..

Hi there

best thing that you can do is return that if its still under warranty. if its not, you have to bring that to a service center as you cannot manually fix that with ordinary tools and equipment.

hope this helps

My ipod 80GB is frozen, what should I do?

Defrost it....just kidding. The hard drive is going bad. Try to connect to a computer and see if it recognizes the iPod. If it does, immediately transfer all your music to the computer before you loose it all because of the hard drive is going out.

My macbook wont boot completely....stuck on the apple with spinning dial screen...tried taking out battery...holding power button...starting with just the adapter....what else can I try...? Irecently...

You may have a costly problem on your hand, but it's not like you have to buy a new Mac. Because you can't get past the Apple Boot screen, the hard drive has to be removed and connected to another pc via a USB IDE/SATA adapter. Back up your info and reformat the hard drive. Replace the drive into the Mac and do a complete install of the Mac OS you have. Hopefully if you have a power pc mac, you have kept your discs; you will need them to a fresh install. Hopefully it's not your hard drive totally say bye bye to all your info, unless you have $1200 - $2400 to invest in a Data Recovery company. Good Luck

My ipod 80gb is saying apple.com/support/ipod

Try resetting it. Sometimes that's all it needs.

To reset iPod, iPod (scroll wheel), iPod (touch wheel), and iPod (dock connector) ipodg1-2.gif ipodg3.gif
  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Play/Pause and Menu buttons simultaneously until the Apple/iPod logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
If you are still unable to reset your iPod, use only one finger from one hand to press the Center (Select) button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Menu button.
When you reset iPod all your music and files are saved, but some customized settings may be lost. Date and time are preserved (unless the iPod reset itself because it had no power and then was reconnected to power). Other customized settings, such as Bookmarks, On-The-Go Playlists, Shuffle, Backlight timer, and so forth are preserved from the last time the hard drive turned on.

Ipod 80gb displays red x

check to see if your ipod is under warranty, if so take it to an apple store.

if i were you i would manually reset your ipod and immediately after you see the apple logo smack hard on its side on a sofa or padded carpet. If you do it right you will hear the hard drive make a weird noise and then make a clicking sound and your ipod should work

You have nothing to loose, the most apple will do for you is offer you a 10% discount off any new ipod (no matter how damaged the ipod)
