My N95 can't get GSM signal

Hi!... Your phone needs firmware upgrade... have you tried their online support?... Go to their Site... Choose your Region then click >Get Support and Software... then on the left side look for Update your N95.. click it... Then there you will see instructions on how you will update your firmware... There are two things that you could do. One is to power cycle the phone and to bring it to the Nokia.

To power cycle it, please follow the steps below:

1. Turn off the phone.
2. Remove the battery, SIM card and the memory card.
3. Leave it for about 5 minutes and then put everything back to the phone.
4. Restart the phone.

If same problem persist, bring it to the Nokia Care Center near you for possible firmware upgrade.

To be abble use GSM mode you need to change your product code and get rid of 3firmware,which void your warranty and you wont be abble acces certain services (Planet 3) . You'll need programm called NSS to change your Product code.

try changing network mode to GSM 1st, for some reason this can be an issue with the fone trying to use 3G.

Menu>Tools>Settings>Network>Network Mode>GSM.

Have you had calls going straight to voice-mail without ringing when you have had a signal all along as this can also be another issue

try having the phone firmware reflash to correct this error, try a mobile service center to have this done.

you can get a firmware upgrade software from the nokia site or check on google

my bet will be to try have the firmware reflash or upgraded not to sure about the clones......but try a mobile service center and see if they can help you out.

according to maklean, may be it not be possible to upgrade firmware by ourselves. But, damnly it is not necessary to buy 3rd party flashers because it can be done by ourselves easily also.
Process for it is :
1) if u want to save ur data, then backup it 1st in ur MMC.
2) turn off the phone.
3) press and hold 3 buttons ( green dial button + * + 3 keypad ) at once and turn on the phone.
4) hold those buttons until formatting screen appears.
5) when it is completed, phone is to be restarted.
6) and my work is finished.

Try to upgrade the firmware this will wipe the phones brain and reflash it, maybe an idea to unbrand it first then you can put in the Firmware of the country you need.
