Failed install with XP I had a bad key, bought windows 7 (downloaded) but my computer tries to run XP and I don't know how to wipe it out and install windows 7

I hope that you stored the download on something else. If you wipe that drive it will erase the download. Anyway you need to get a boot disk to load first and then try the install. Hirons boot disk. Look here: dont click on the advertising.

Computer was wiped and I am trying to also figure out how to get a boot disc from toshiba. it was never with the computer to begin with.

you don't need a start up disk from toshiba. A regular Windows instalation CD/DVD is enough. If your computer was wiped, there's a chance the Toshiba startup disk will not start either.
If you use an OEM version of your Windows (have a windows key sticker on your laptop), then download an OEM Toshiba version. Use this LINK for more information.
When you have the Windows CD, you just need to repartition the disk and reinstall windows.

In order to "reset" a computer you will need to reinstall Windows XP. Most PC makers no longer give CD copy of windows with their products, and so they'll usually put a copy of it on your hard drive.

You can find this by going to

Selecting this .exe will lead you through a step by step guide to wiping and ultimately reinstalling windows on the machine.

Sometimes the i386 folder is in the root, depending on the Brand.

Why not use the built in fdisk that comes with your windows installation disc?

When you get to the partitioning part of the install, remove your current partition, create a new one and format it.

My computer runs so slow and cant play my games on count of it. It needs cleaned up bad and i dont know how to do it. Please help me.

Backup all your files (E-mail, address book, music, license-keys for purchased software),
writing either to DVD-recordable disks, to an USB memory-stick, or to an external disk-drive.

Then, reinstall Windows, "wiping" everything from your disk-drive.
Run "Windows Update" (repeatedly) to get all the latest security-updates.
Reinstall anti-virus software.
Reload your files.
Reinstall the purchased software.
Reinstall the free software (Adobe Reader? WinAmp?).

I have a autorun.inf virus in my cimputer that disable my task manager and regedit. please help me!!

Remove the disk-drive from your computer.
Attach it as a "slave" disk-drive in a different computer that has up-to-date anti-virus software installed.
Run the anti-virus software, targeting "all" the files on that "slave" disk-drive,
if you believe that it is possible for any anti-virus software to remove 100% of any computer-virus.

Or, read:

which describes "best practises", namely to copy all your data files, "flatten" the disk-drive,
reinstall Windows, and reload your data.

Or, take this incident as an "opportunity" to install a new (larger? faster?) disk-drive into your computer, disconnecting the old disk-drive, and to reinstall Windows,
and to install an anti-virus software package.
Then, temporarily attach the old disk-drive as a "slave" drive, and copy all your files.
When the copy completes, FORMAT the "slave" disk-drive, to wipe-out ALL the files on that disk.

There are many things that you can do to help. The first thing is defragmenting the hard drive. The second is (if Vista or Windows 7) set your windows defender to scan at a different time than your virus software (this does not apply to Windows XP). The third is cleaning out the cookies folder. Cookies will continue to build up in a computer to a point where it will diminish the performance of the computer. The next thing is to do a disk clean up. Then the last thing to do is go to and do a free scan. This will make sure your virus software has not missed a potential virus threat. If it finds a virus that your virus software has missed, you might consider uninstalling it and using something like Avast or AVG or both together (both free versions). These are just a few simple things to go through.
