Re: canon powershot A70 digital camera
The memory card may be failing. Recommend trying a different memory card to verify. Do you still have the original low value card that came with the camera? If so, try that one to see if you still have the problem. If that one checks fine, then you know it's time for a new card.

When you transferred the pics from the cards to your computer, did you use the "safely remove hardware" function before removing the cards or cord or whatever method you used? If not, this is why you're getting the error message. If the pics are safely downloaded, format the cards in the camera to get them working again.
Issue: Memory card Error Solution: Try a different memory card and/or Reformat memory card PowerShot A70
Formatting a CF Card
You should always format a new CF card or one from which you wish to erase all images and other data.
Please note that formatting a CF card erases all data, including protected images and other file types. Please check the contents of the CF card before formatting it.
Turn the power on.
Press the <MENU> button and select [ (Set up)] using or .
Select (Format) using or and press the <SET> button.
Select [OK] using or and press the <SET> button.
To cancel formatting instead, select [Cancel] and press the <SET> button.
The capacity of the CF card displayed after formatting will be less than the rated capacity of the CF card. This is not a malfunction of the CF card or camera.
Press the <MENU> button.
If the camera does not work properly, the inserted CF card may be malfunctioning. Reformatting the CF card may solve the problem.
When a non-Canon brand CF card is malfunctioning, reformatting it may solve the problem.
CF cards formatted in another camera, computer or peripheral device may not operate correctly. When that happens, reformat the CF card with this camera.
try doing a format with the camera. there should be an icon of a wrench in the menu--in this sub menu you will see "format." this action will erase anything on the card. i actually had the same problem with a canon camera, and this worked for me. Sometimes new flash cards are not compatible off the shelf--they need to be formatted. You should have at least flash cards to be sure card is not defective. Let me know if this helps!
do one thing. as per canons manual: if any error is displayed when using your memory card do a low level formating of memory card. but what to do for pictures in it? get a memory card reader from market. its very cheap. its also advisable to use memory card reader to transfer your photos rather than using direct connectiin to computer. after doing a low level formating then transfer photos inside memory card from system, put it in ur camera, then enjoy. hope you are clear with your problem. please give a feedback.

transfer your photos rather than using direct connectiin to computer. bcz any lekage current from computer may damage the camera in some way. after doing a low level formating then transfer photos inside memory card from system, put it in ur camera, then enjoy. hope you are clear with your problem. please give a feedback.
I dont know about formmating CF sandisk card with canon A70, however, i can recommend another method: hook it up to your desktop and format it through a CF adaptor. It may take a couple of attempts. it didnt do any damage, at least not one that im aware of. Im not 100% sure though, so don't get me responsible in case it will damage yours. anyways, if you do it, you can try the process described above.
