1995 [POLARIS 400 SPORTSMAN. carb has been cleaned AND REBUILT. STARTS AND RUNS GOOD LOW SPEEDS. DRIVES UP TO ABOUT HAlf throttle and cuts out. will restart and run the same again

if thats the 2 stroke (pretty sure it is) you have to watch the crank seals on those. cause running probs and eventually destroy the motor.

Polaris troubleshooting

Sounds like a carb issue...make sure you have fresh ,clean gas.You havent got water in your carb/tank have you? I would start by taking the carb apart and give it a really good clean.Check all jets and orifices.Another words, take apart anything in the carb that you can, clean and replace.

Just installed a rebuilt carb. on a 1984 Dodge ram D-150, when coming to a stop it lopes and sometimes stalls, also when turning left it stutters and sometimes dies, worse when its been ran for a while.

You probably need to adjust the air/fuel mixture screws. Sounds like its running a little too rich. When you first start the engine, is the idle speed real low? If it is, then this is more evidence that its running rich

Polaris xc 500 twin one cylinder not running right

DOES THE CYLINDER HAVE LOW COMPRESSION. IT SHOULD BE SOMEWHERE AROUNT 100-130 PSI AND NO MORE THAN 15% DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO CYLINDERS. IF IT IS LOW, A REBUILD IS GOING TO BE REQUIRED. IF IT IS OK THAN CHANGE THE PLUGS AND DO A CARB CLEANING AND SYNC THEM.

HOPE THIS HELPS

Before you do any of that check exhaust for restriction.

Polaris 300 it will run get loud and die

2 strokes get loud before they run out of gas. check your fuel lines and carb to see if your getting enough fuel to the engine.
