Question about Graphics Cards

1 Answer

Sites don't fill in completely

Websites have lots of blank spots where pictures should be. Some writing is too big for boxes. Some writing is faded and hard to read. Can be on a website I know has color, graphics, etc, from looking on other computers. Miss lots of information. If hold cursor over blank spot will sometimes say what's there or you can click blindly and things will appear.

Example, on AOL email site, there should be little boxes to check on left to delete messages but boxes don't show up. Can still click on spot where they should be and will delete, but can't see them. What can this be??

What should i do if my laptop has virus

Oh, My bad. I am used to quickly reading the title and reading the description.!!!IMPORTANT!!! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM DISC, IF YOU DON'T THEN FORGET ALL THIS. What you should do if your computer has a virus is,
Step 1. since you already lost all your information. go into the BOOT setup menu and COMPLETELY format* your hard drive(s), since the virus could still be there.
Step 2. Once it is finished, enter into safe mode. Lots of people don't know how to get there so i will tell you, before it completes the booting process PRESS F8 at some point (Been a long time since i had to do this, so i would not know when exactly). then use your arrow keys (up and down) to highlight over safe mode. Press Enter.
Step 3. Wait for it to reboot and enter into safe mode. I am not sure but IF there is still familiar programs on there, I would format it again. Insert your desired Operating System disc (mine is Windows XP Professional) and Install it.
Step 4. Wait patiently, choose every thing you want to install. Wait patiently
Step 5. When it is COMPLETELY finished, reboot your computer half way
Step 6. This may be step 6, or it could be between the steps "formatting" and "safe mode". Enter into the settings menu, Mine is a turqoise screen with white text. I think you press delete when it says to. This part I can't completely remember but, you have to rechange the disks. You can look it up on google on a different computer if you need to. <<<<In fact this step is optional, if it says under My Computer that it doesnt have any hard disks.
Step 7. Restart your computer. Install all the essentials. Start with Microsoft security essentials. write this link down: windows.microsoft.com/MSE , then download the other software such as your graphics card (I think this is only for tower computers, never owned a laptop before) your sound drivers, every part that is needed for your computer to run normally. Then Install the updates for your computer (This may take a very long time but be patient) when it asks to restart your computer, do so.
Step 8: Then install the less-essential stuff such as your preferred browser, tools and utilities. REMEMBER: company websites, NOT some "trickster" website that says they are virus free. Use common sense.
Step 9: Install what you want as long as its all legal.

I have been using a Radeon X1650 Series (This is all my computer will tell me about it and I can't find the packaging or install disc) Video Card for a few years now but just in the last couple of days it...

If you have an open slot on your motherboard try moving the Video card to a different slot and rebooting this might help or just re seat the card will sometimes help. This doen't solve your problem look on-line for a driver upgrade or just the original driver and try loading the original one or the updated one. If this doesn't work you probably are looking at a new video card.

Let me know if this helps

I insalled the software, but I can't get the videos from my camera onto my computer. When I put in the usb, it tells me it could perform faster in a different port but I've tried all my ports. I just want...

I think your PC is drawing attention to the difference between USB 1.1 and USB 2 ports, USB2 being much faster.

It wouldn't do this if you had USB2 ports on your PC.

Now working on the premise that your copying video tape to your PC rather than copying video files to your PC.

Other than rebuilding your PC or buying a new one will USB2 ports, you could

1) If its a laptop, use the firewire port. Just buy a firewire cable.
2) If its deskstop, buy a firewire PCI card (Not much, try ebay). You'll also need a firewire cable.
3) Carry on using the kit that you've already got, its just going to take a lot longer.

A final thought comes to mind, especially if the process is to copy tape to dvd.

I've have friends have no end of problems using these Dazzle and similar products in conjunction with a PC to make a DVD copy. The big issue being lip sync problems.

The way I prefer, and much more reliable is to daisy chain a

Camcorder/VHS recorder to a DVD recorder with a hard drive and finally a TV for monitoring.

Press play on the camcorder/VHS and record on the DVD player.

Once complete, edit on the DVD player and then write to DVD.

Laggy display after a few minutes play

lot of the game now a days require a pretty big video card. A 5200 is outdated and i know u cant upgrade your laptop. The best solution to this is increase the amount of RAM in your laptop to the max. When you run games lower the video settings to low or medium. Another thing that can help is running msconfig in the RUN box and turning off lot of apps that run in background

Unusual Problem During Update my XFX Geforce 8600GT 1Gig Driver

Well M8, your english is perfect!

Just a fast look on the system of your i would guess that your problem is the 330w psu!

Thats way to low for that gpu-card!
If u can, try another one whit at least 550w! i think that will solve your problem.
If you dont have power enough the computer will freez or/and shut down.

Let me know if that helps!

Good luck to you M8!

Recording locks up on "Generating disc menu"

I too suspect it is related to windows updates which seem to take up a lot of memory. The only solution to Pinnacle hangups is to make sure you have a computer that accepts 4 MB and upgrade to Windows Vista.

Short of that, the solution is to break your videos into tiny scenes containing 30 pictures or less if you are using AVI, and then save your files NOT to DVD, but onto your hard drive as image files. Make sure you rename each section image file after you save it, or each section will write over the previous one.

Finally, using a program like Nero (the Express part), join them all together on one DVD and allow Nero itself to create your menus. Nero does a fantastic job of that and makes menu creation very simple.
