Flickering and Jumping Picture

At first it shows a pretty picture then after about 30 minutes or so the picture starts flickering and jumping and stuff.What should I do to fix that? my picture is fine for about 30 min. and then flickers color goes out

    Mine does the same thing, starts flickering and then makes loud whistle then turns off. When I put an external fan in the back it lasts longer but still does the same thing. Is there a fan that can be replaced. Where can I get the part?

    Mine do's the same thing. I think it's the color wheel, the tv can for about 30 min's and then starts to flicker really bad and the color gets bad.

    Our TV does this too, along with a very loud humming noise. We can watch for about 15-20 minutes before the picture starts flashing and then just goes out. We've already replaced the lamp.

    I have the exact same problem, and it IS the color wheel. I replaced the lamp last year at 2 years old, now the color wheel follows. My local Sharp TV authorized repairman says that this is a common problem, and Sharp sold this defective model TV through knowing this! He has replaced 5 color wheels, ALL of which immediately failed! Sharp will no longer sell the color wheel to service technicians, just the color generator, which encloses the color wheel...cost??? $2000!!! So now, at $2300 for lamp and color generator, I would have to pay almost as much as I paid for the whole TV to have it fixed!...GREAT ' white glove' deal huh?!

    UPDATE!! In all fairness, I have to report that Costco has come through! They just called and are standing behind their sales, even though it's out of warranty. After being made aware of the problem, they are sending out their repair technicians, and promised me that the problem would be solved by any means! What terrific customer service!!! They said the symtoms of color loss, humming, whining, flickering and picture loss is indicative of the color wheel. If you purchased your Sharp 65DR650 through Costco, call the store where you bought it before putting out your own $$$!

Samsung HLP5085W DLP - lamp replaced about 7 months ago. I powered up TV and got strange colors with flickering picture. Turned unit off and triangle symbol appears with lamp showing - needs replacement....

Strange colors and flickering picture symptom shows problem with color wheel and/or dmd board.
Lamp is only light source in dlp tv and it has nothing with colors or picture flicker.
TV goes to protection mode because of some internal problem as mentioned above.
If you wish to repair tv by yourself then you should have service manual copy in hand and that can be downloaded from HERE for small fee.

We have a roughly 10 yr old tv that was given to us from friends (therefore we dont have waranty), and it has just started flickering red lines horizontally across the screen. It is a large non-flat rear...

Ur convergence is dead.These problems are colors misalines,3D pictures,colors distorted.U know how to solders?Must replaced 2 convergence ICS,and some or all it resistors.Buy a convergence kit at Tv repair, to repair it ur self.The shop will cost U $300 for parts and labors.

No Picture - only sound

I have a TV at work that has been doing the same thing here's how I've been getting it to show a picture:

turn the TV on then quickly change it to an input channel (like front or etc) that doesn't have anything connected to it. Let it sit there for a few minutes, then change it to a regular channel and see if you have a picture.

DLP TV starts to loose picture after 1 - 1/2 hours of use

This tv has a 3 board video path. Analog main pcb --->Digital main pcb --->DMD pcb. see which inputs have the problem to narrow it down. if only some inputs, suspect analog board. if everything flickers(all inputs and menu), suspect the dmd or engine. you can see the lamp shine out the back. if the lamp is flickering, suspect lamp or ballast.

what i would do is buy a can of freeze from radio shack and spay the convergance ic it as soon as it starts, if it comes back to normal it's the ic's if not try another ic or transistor

it needs the hyper module replaced might as well have em do the stk packs too its too old to be a lemon the part that was replaced was not new it was in someone elses tv and had problems there too the trick is to find someone that will fix it so it lasts
