My Hitachi dmp860 player displays the error message "NO AUTHORITY" when trying to play wma files that I originally ripped from my own cds. Why is this and what can I do about it?

When you ripped them, you probably used Windows Media Player which will add copy protection by default if you don't set otherwise.

Either

- Re-rip as MP3
- Re-rip with copy protection off

It is easier to re-rip than to try to remove copy protection.

DRM protection has been used by some big companies to protect their intellectual property rights, such as Sony, Apple Inc., Microsoft and so on. Music bought from different companies will have different DRM protection that can restrict you from playing songs on incompatible players. Part 3: How to Remove DRM from Protected Music

Following is the step by step guide to help you remove DRM protection then you can enjoy DRM protected music freely!
Step 1: Add files
Free download Aimersoft Music Converter and run it. Then click "Add" to load your DRM protected music files.

Step 2: Output settings
Click the "Setting" button to set the music output format as you like:

Step 3: Start to remove DRM from protected music
Click the “Start” button to start to remove DRM from protected music files, that's all.

Cant load music on centon player. Says disk

If your "Hold" button is on, turn it off. The hold button write-protects the USB drive and you cannot add or delete files.

Why does it say error when i put on song onto my gpx mp3 player?

sEVERAL POSSIBILITIES:
* You downloaded protected music on your Windows 98/98SE, Windows 2000, Windows XP computer using Windows Media Player 9. Music was purchased online or the music was ripped form your own audio CD with Copyright Protection turned ON.
o You must use Windows XP and Windows Media Player 10 for online purchased songs.
o You must turn OFF Copy Protection on your Windows Media Player 9 before ripping your audio CDs into WMA files
* You downloaded protected music to your MP3 player using your Windows XP computer and Windows Media Player 10 with your player in USB mode. Music was downloaded from the internet, purchased or subscribed, or it was ripped from your own audio CD with Copyright protection turned ON.
o You have to use your MW3836 in MTP mode.
