95 laredo keeps shutting off, 5.2 v8

I have a jeep laredo that keeps shutting off at random times. That's not the worst thing- sometimes it takes 15-20 mins to start after it shuts off so i might be on the highway and ill be stuck until it starts. It happens about once a week or so. Ill be driving and then the rpm gauge will just flat line. It happens at lights, highways and inbetween. I have had the car for 2 years-the first year nothing and now this. If i tap on the brakes it tends to make the problem worse-maybe that loosens something that is not connected?!? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

1995 jeep grand cheerokee laredo 6 cyl. randomly dies then takes anywhere from five minutes to hours to restart

The only component I know of, that shuts a Jeep off while idling or driving 40mph down the road, is a bad crank sensor. Usually when it starts going bad, it will sporadically shut off, like yours does. Eventually, it will just die and the Jeep will not start at all. Have it tested and replaced, if necessary.

So, my 2001 V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo is very slowly leaking coolant. I replaced the heater core in 2009 and the symptoms that the Jeep expressed then are not happening now. However, the low coolant...

are you mixing the coolant with water if yes,you need to just put straight up anti freeze ,because water evaporates at high temperatures .. also keep resorvoir full at all times there is a sensor in the tank that when is low it makes the check coolant light come on ,,....good luck

95 jeep laredo distribution box keeps clicking then jeep . doesnt start till check engine light comes on

Your jeep ecu needs to be repaired. You have what is known as the 'No Check Engine Light" no start problem. Have the ecu either repaired (a lot cheaper) or replaced. That will eliminate the delayed check engine light and wait time to start.

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

I had a problem with my Jeep doing the same thing. It turned out to be the Crank shaft senor. It would just turn off even on the highway at 60mph.
If you can change it yourself you will save a lot of money.
