Question about HP Compaq Presario V2000 Notebook
On device manager shows working perfectly but still not read any kind of cd aswell as unable to write cd.
It is most likely dead. If you have not messed with the internals of the notebook. You will not get a error message nore will device manager show the cd player as defective. From your description of, (unable to write a CD or read any CD). It is rare to find a CD/R player or DVDR/RW player that warrants for more than a year. You can try buying a CD cleaner disk but for the money you spend for a cleaner you could add to a new CD writer. Suggest a new drive for notebook.: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=10007201
