Acutally I figured out yesterday that it was the screen and did exactly as you said and used a toothbrush to clean it out. I did soak the screen in vinegar for a while first but it probably didn't make any difference. Now it works great. Thanks.

There is a very fine screen on the outlet of the carafe that becomes plugged over time with fine coffee grounds. You can see it if you look down inside the pot above where the coffee comes out. Just using coffee pot cleaner won't clean it, because it's fine coffee grounds stuck in the screen, that are slowing the coffee going through it.
It's not easy to reach, so you'll a pair of needle nose pliers. Get ahold of the plastic ridge the runs across the top of it and it pops right out. You can use the bristles of an old toothbrush to scrub it. The bristles will fit in the spaces of the fine screen and force the deposits out. You can probably just leave the screen out altogether, it's just there to stop grounds.

Vinegar won't touch the deposits on that plastic. Get some commercial coffee pot cleaner, and either run it through the entire cycle, or just put the cleaner in the tank and run water through the rest. The hot water is deposited in the tank and mixes with the cleaner. Denture cleaning tablets will work as well.

Hamilton Beach brew station dispenses very slowly. I have cleaned it twice but still takes a long time to fill a cup!

Try to have a look whether there is a limestone layer built up on the element.
That will slow it down, while most probblems will stop it alltogether.
Remove by leaving white vinegar in it overnight.

How to clean Brew Station

Remove the water filter, if you have one. Pour 2 cups of vinegar into the water reservoir. Turn on, wait 20 seconds, and turn off. Leave for 30 minutes. Then turn on, and turn off when finished. After it has cooled, dispense several cups, then empty and rinse the reservoir. Run two or three more cycles with (clean) water only, allowing to cool between the cycles.

Is there a replacement part for the (HB Brewstation model 47665) tank? It's barely a year old, and the tank has a tiny crack (at one of the screws at the hot plate) and leftover coffee spills all over the...

Desiree, I just had a problem with my 3 yr old Brewstation 47665. There is a limited warranty (1 yr) for the model. Call Customer Service and I am sure they can help you. You can find the number on their website. In my case, I would have to buy a new tank for $14.00 plus state tax. $14 is a lot better than $60. The coffee was dispensing extremely slowly and there is no way to remove the parts to clean. I didn't want to part with this coffeemaker, I LOVE IT!

Brew station is extremely slow, suspect it needs cleaning.

You can run a cup of vinegar through the machine. Run it just as you would making coffee, except without the coffee. Run water through the cycle at least twice to remove sediment and the vinegar. Works like a charm.

Why does unit fill cup very slowly when the inside filter appears clean.

Hi,
mix half white vinegar and water together...then pour this solution in just as you would if you were making coffe....minus the coffe grounds of course... then run it through a cycle and then run clear water through again... and you will be good to go...do this once a month or so to keep it working great...

I lost the cleaning instructions and cannot remember how much vinegar to use and for how long I notice a leak this morning when i made coffee and thought it was because it had not been cleaned in a while.

Depending on how much calcium build up is in the coffee brewer, it may take a teaspoon or half a cup. The vinegar won't hurt the machine...it just takes a long time to rinse out. Hope this helps. m

My coffee maker works very slowly after about three weeks of use. Specifically, the water does not pass through the filter and into the pot quickly, if at all. Suggestions?

Try cleaning it with white vinegar. Put in one cup with a potful of water, and let it soak. To get more cleaning, pour the water/vinegar through again, hot. Put in a coffee filter to catch/strain the debris, and you will be able to see if it's helping. When you're through cleaning, pass fresh water through the machine by potfuls, until no traces of vinegar can be detected.

Stopped up

I took a small tooth brush and brushed the screen from the inside of the pot. That cleaned it right up and I now have a full stream, dispensing.
