Brand new builtin dishwasher. I have run it 2 cycles now and it always completes it's full cycle with the bottom being full of dirty water up to the brim.

I've changed the route of the drain tube for the 2nd cycle and had same results thinking that it was too much of a rise the first time.....

Any ideas??? what else to try as I purchase it new as a scratch and dent warehouse without warranty.

I would check your drain for restrictions under sink. fill with water, and then cancel cycle, did you hear water draining freely??? sounds like a clog

Top (upper rack) of dishwasher does not wash. bottom does mediocre job

Make sure top rack is backed up into water entry in back of diswasher. Also check to make sure holes are not plugged in rotating wash arm. You may have to wash your dishwasher..take out the racks and look to see if they have food gunked up on them, if so wash them off in the sink. Take out the top rack clips and wash the rails inside the tub if they are dirty. You can use a squirt bottle with warm water. Do this after you run a rinse cycle so that dried food gunk is softer. There are alot of places in this machine for food to stick then resurface later. you may try also adding vinegar and baking soda to a rinse cycle and then leaving in it soak before restarting it.

I have a ADG450 about 7 years old, the problem is there is dirty water left at the bottom of the dishwasher after finishing the cycle and the dishes look as if they have had the final rinse in the dirty...

check the pipe leading from the dishwasher to the outlet, maybe under sink. this needs to be raise up as water will flow back into washer. Had this problem myself, felt foolish when the repair man just tied it up and left. !

Dishwasher not draining completely-suds left

Dishwashers shouldn't have suds so somehow dishwasher liquid was introduced to the dishwasher. Vinegar, alcohol, or a small amount of cooking oil might help eliminate the sudsing.

There is a smell in the dishwasher and on the dishes when clean

I suspect stagnant water is laying in the bottom areas. You will have to lay the machine on it's back to access the pump.

Dishwasher smells after completed load. The water left on top of cups etc is dirty.

your machine is likely not getting rid of all the dirty water after the wash cycle. you need to make sure there is no debris left in any filters in the bottom of the machine and see if there is a part called a check valve somewhere, it may need to be replaced.

No water in kitchenaid dishwasher -- everything dirty and dry after wash cycle. rinse cycle the same. any ideas what might be wrong?

Simplist reason for no water in a machine that has been working well, is to check to see if the float, that is telling the machine to add water or stop because it is full, is stuck. I have had a measuring spoon fall out of its tray and fall under the float located in the bottom of the unit and hold the float up telling the machine it is full of water. It usually looks like a mushroom and should bob up and down.

Water seems to be hot enough, drains properly, arnms not blocked, dishes not being cleaned at end of cycle. Almost seems like it is skipping the wash cycle.

Hi smiller8565,
There is 3 basic problems that will cause a dishwasher to not clean the dishes. You can check these problems and see if any will solve your problems.
1: If there is water or suds left in the dishwasher after the cycle is complete. This will cause dirty water to be used in the final rinse and the dishes will not get clean.
2: The pump that supplies water to the spray arms is jammed or defective and unable to pump the water properly, thus causing the dishes to remain dirty.
3: Timer, the timer is not allowing the machine to work in the wash cycle.
The solutions for these 3 are as follows.
1: check the drain line for blockage, if you have a disposal make sure it is clear and water flows down the drain properly. If you have suds left in the dishwasher, clean them out and run a couple cycles with not detergent to rinse away the old suds.
2: Look down in the bottom for any obstructions in the pump. Popcorn seeds, broken glass, etc.
3: If the unit is skipping the wash cycle you will most likely need a new timer or control assembly.
Good luck and I really hope this will Fix Ya
Mike
