Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a 03-04 55in Mitsubishi TV. When I turn the TV on after being off for a long period of time (6-7 hours) the green light flashes for approximately a minute. Sometimes the TV will go ahead and come on but other times the only way it will come on is to unplug and plug back in or use the reset on the front of the TV. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thank you

These sets have a board called the DM board when the green LED flashes and will not stop it means there is a problem on this board, Now this board before it failes will cause the set to do what you are describing, The repair is to replace four capacitors on this board

For me to change them I call it easy, but a surgan also calls removing a Apedix "Easy". But for your average Joe with modarate soldering skillls this is about a 4 on the scale of 1 to 10

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525 HDTV that suddenly wont turn on. Just has a green blinking light when you hit the power button. Any ideas?

I found this on another website, most likely it is your power supply capacitors.
  1. Press the "reset" button and hold for 10 seconds .... Does TV turn on and blinking green light turn to solid green.

  2. Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours..... Does blinking green light continue upon plugging in the TV.

  3. Disconnect ALL devices from the TV; DVD, Tuner, Cable Box, unplug the TV for various duration times .... Does blinking green light continues upon plugging in the TV.

  4. Press Power and Menu buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  5. Press Power and Display buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  6. Insure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.

Diagnosis: If none of the above test resolve the issue, then the failure lies in one of the following:

  1. DM Module Capacitors have FAILED.
  2. DM Module is defective.
  3. EEPROM Board failure
  4. Power Supply failure.

Flashing green light

Did you try this yet

SYSTEM RESET
If the TV will not respond to either the remote control
or the front panel controls and/or will not power Off,
press the SYSTEM RESET button with a pointed item
like the end point of a paperclip. The TV will turn Off
and the TIMER light will flash quickly for about one
minute. When the TIMER light stops flashing, you may
turn on the TV again. Changes you made the last time
the TV was On before you used the SYSTEM RESET
button may be lost, however, the changes you made
previously are not lost.
POWER/TIMER Indicator
The green light is a multi-function indicator. This light
will flash rapidly for about one minute each time the TV
is plugged into the wall electrical outlet, when power
is restored after a power failure, or using the SYSTEM
RESET button. Do not attempt to turn on the TV again
during this period. Wait for the flashing to stop and
the light to turn off, before attempting to turn the TV
on. While the TV is powered on, the light illuminates
steadily. If the TV has been programmed to turn on
automatically using the Timer feature,

Green Light Under Timer Stays Flashing and Will Not Go Out

Mitsubishi has repaired some sets if you have the origional purcahes documents. If not you can get the v26 DLP DM repair kit which should take care of that issue. Heres a link to the kit if needed.

Flashing green light

This is a very serious problem. The green blinking LED means the TV is reading its software but it can't complete the task. The cause is the premature failure of dozens of capacitors on several circuit boards in the TV. To properly fix this, the chassis needs to sent to Mitsubishi for rebuilding. You'll need to contact a Mitsubishi authorized service center to do this. This is expensive and takes quite a bit of time.

Green light flashing

this means the DM board is not booting up. You will typically need 4-8 capacitors to fix this issue. you have to pull out the board and solder in new parts. let me know if you feel skilled enough to do this and I can give directions. The caps will usually bulge at the tops and are 1000uf .. mitsubishi recommends replacing with 680uf 16v caps..

Was this happening before the lamp problem? What usually causes this is 4 capacitors on the DM module inside the TV. But usually this will happen over a period of time.
