If the washer is stopped mid cycle it will default to rinse and spin. It will then get stuck in a loop. It is necessary to reset the electronics. Unplug the electrical cord from the unit. Wait 30 seconds. Turn the cycle selector all the way around clockwise. Turn it again and set it on any setting accept rinse or spin. Plug the unit in. It should begin a new cycle and be working normally.

It sounds like your bearings are are whacked, if you have vertical
movement in the drum the bearings will need replacing , not a simple job as seals also need replacing

Washer runs until it gets to the Rinse cycle and stops... You can tell it wants to work because there is a faint humminb sound, but doesn't.

If the washer will agitate it's not a motor problem, capacitor or a broken motor coupler. It's either a loose wire connection on the start circuit or failed contact in the timer. When you say that the motor hums during spin, that would indicate that the motor has run voltage, but it has no start voltage. It needs both start and run voltage in order to get the motor started and running. The start voltage gets the motor started, and once started all it needs is run voltage to keep it running. The only difference between agitate and spin is that the polarity is reversed in order to start the motor in the opposite direction.

GE washer agitates but won't spin

I think you may have a stopped up pump does it drain the water out if not it will not spin. A putty knife inserted 2 inches in from each side will release the spring catches and gently pull on front as you release sprins then look to the bottom right hand side and there is the pump clamp the tub to pump hose or **** water out with a shop vac take off tub to pump hose and then two 3/8 in screws that hold down the pump turn over where you can look in the pump may have an obstruction as always disconnect power before service.

Water not draining out w/ spin cycle

sounds like water may be going out but no spin in last cycle lean washer back and ck underneath for oil leak on top off transmission is a silver colored disk shaped object this is part of clutch if there appears to be a lot of oil on it good chance there is oil on clutch also causing it not yo spin..also ck to see if basket spins after short pause at end of rinse cycle ..start a rinse cycle at setting on timer with lid shut allow to run undisturbed ..once agitation stops in rinse timer should stop then start motor back up to drain ..there should be another short pause then washer should start spinning if does not pause suspect suspect timer if it does pause but doesn't start spinning suspect transmission..remember allow washer to advance by itself DO NOT RAISE LID TO CK..a small load of clothes will let you know if washer has spun

Kenmore Super Capacity stuck on rinse

Krom, sounds like the machine is syphoning. Check the drain hose and make sure there is a air gap and that it is not too far down the standpipe or drain. To test it hold the drain hose right at the drain top and see if the problem stops...Catriver...post back.
