Question about Epson Stylus C86 InkJet Printer
There are several people who say pull out the sponges and clean the tubes underneath. (My black ink still works but the colors have stopped). Are they talking about the long sponges running directly (width wise) left to right when you open the printer. Or, is there another sponge to the right where the ink cartridges sit when idle? I don't want to tear up the long sponges since they appear to be pretty solidly locke in with many tabs, etc.
Hmmm...well..there's nothing in the service bulletins that suggest that. There IS a note related to replacing those sponges, since they do wear and dry out, even when worked properly. I usually decline to do a sponge bath(he..he) even if it sounds like a good idea. That ink gets into everything, and is tough to remove.
