Updating to internal (non-PCMCIA) Ethernet

Is there an internal Ethernet upgrade I can apply for this laptop? I see there appears to be room by the RJ11 connector and an appropriate graphic, but a blank where the RJ45 should be.Thanks

Your Pavilion N5340 should have an internal mini pci port, which can host a wireless adapter.

Hi.. pls help me how to downgrade my apple ipad i upgrade it to 4.2 version and i lost all my files. before it was 3.2

when ipad's firmware changes , it may format its on-board storage if newer firmware conflicts with older one's file structure. To resolve this conflicts, ipad simply formats its internal storages and applies new features. I think that might happen to you too. If something lost in that way there is not much to do about it. Only way we can retrieve the data is by recovering Softwares though full recovery may not be possible.

That's why companies says always to backup important files before updating. If Anything went wrong during updating, all data on internal storage may at risk.

Rj45 socket repair

Your laptop has a card slot, it will take a pcmcia expansion card.
It may be cheaper to buy an ethernet card with a rj45 port, rather than trying to repair the laptops built in port.
I found some from about £10

Install drivers for ethernet card or buy a usb to ethernet adapter. That will get you on the net so you can install your other drivers via thinkvantage installer. Or you can just cruise the net with the usb to ethernet adapter itself.

A PCMCIA Netword adapter/card will fit into this slot. This adapter is used for wired or Ethernet connection of the laptop to the network.

Hope this helps!

That unit it about 10 years old.
Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade the CPU (processor)

The RAM is a standard 100MHz non-parity SDRAM SODIMM. The 2645 can use 128MB DIMMS for 160MB maximum. It has 32MB internal and two slots.

The hard drive size is limited by the BIOS. Any standard 2.5" hard drive should work, but may show as limited size, maybe 20GB.

Get a PCMCIA modem.

If you found a docking station for this unit, you'd be in better shape. Like I said, it's 10 years old. It won't be easy.

Network adapter: Device manager can't find network adapter

I have had these network adaptors go defective. In your laptop, it is probably built in on the mother board. This would be very expensive to fix. I would suggest to get a USB or a PCMCIA (laptop socket) network adabtor. Install the new adabtor with the software that comes with it, and most likely the new one will work.
