Where do find my security key to connect to the internet..I,m trying to set up a new computer..Thanks

If you have access to a wireless computer that is already connected to and operating on your network, then you should go here and download this utility http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=Im-88880-1&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en
and then run it. Once it fully scans, click on Show Advanced Tools in the bottom left of the window and select Retrieve WPA/WEP Key, it will be on the right side.

If you do NOT have a wireless computer available, then you need to loginto your router (sorry, but I do not know which router you have) and go to the wireless page. If you have WEP, just copy down the WEP key that has the radial button selected (green dot) and that is your key. If you have WPA, copy the Preshared key.

If you do not know how to get to your router setup, go to a computer that is conencted to your router by a LAN cord. Go to Start > Run and in the Run window type CMD. If you have Vista or Win 7, go to the Start Orb and just type CMD into the serch bar. In the command prompt window type IPCONFIG /ALL now look for Default Gateway (that's your router) and copy down the IP Address.
Now open a web browser utility and type that IP Address into the address bar.

I have a DSL502T ADSL Router, and have bought a new emachines computer. I can not connect to the internet. The computer has a wireless connection loaded but I want to connect by dailup Please could you help...

You are a bit confused with the various components required for Internet connections.
If you have a dial-up connection with an Internet Service Provider, all you do is connect your computer's modem port to the phone line and dial the phone number of your Internet Service provider.
If you are connected to the Internet Servise Provider by ADSL and have a combined ADSL router and modem then you connect the phone line to this router/modem. If the ADSL modem is separate component then the phone line is connected to the ADSL modem and this modem is connected to the router with a LAN cable and the computer is connected to the router with another LAN cable. If the route is wireless and the computer has a wireless card then you don't need a LAN cable between the router and the computer.
If you are connected to the Internet by ADSL, to secure your Internet connection and configure your computer so it can connect to the Internet, please follow my instruction - click on this link :-

I am replacing BT 105 modem with a Belkin adsl2 modem with wireless g router. The 105 has a blue cable with a square connector. I tried to put the yellow supplied cable in the back of my computer but it...

no, but you need to configure the router to connect to the internet, you should have a "quick start guide" that will help you connect to your router and set your ADSL dial settings (as it needs this to connect you to your internet service)

once these connection settings are set you should be able to connect to the internet

you can then explore the other settings including the wireless configuration of your router

I cannot connect to the internet with my belkin wireless adapater and i don't know why, please help.

you need more than a wireless adapter to connect to the internet......
you need a wireless network to connect to. in cafe's and pubs the owner sometimes sets up a WiFi network that their patrons can connect to, however most people have to provide their own.

to get to the internet , you will need.

A broadband connection (ADSL / Cable) this normally comes with a standard NON wifi modem
A WiFi Router (including ADSL / Cable Modem) depending on what you have already.

then to link a remote PC / Laptop to this network, A suitable wireless adapter ( like your belkin adapter)

it is a common misconception that a wireless adapter is all you need (advertising is vague)

How to set up my belkin adsl modem with built in wireless router (8o2.11g/54 mbps) with my broadband connection?

There may be a set up wizard disk with the router so you can put in your broadband account details etc to get you running.

The wireless side of things will almost certainly require you to use a cable to connect you PC to the router and log in using internet explorer

Post the model number of the router so I can assist you in more detail

Have you accessed and setup your wireless part of the modem?

To access the router settings menu, you will first need to log into the Wireless router following the steps below:
Open Internet Explorer
In the address bar type the following address:
192.168.0.1

You will be prompted to enter a Username and Password to access the interface, please use the following default details:
Username: This can be found on the bottom of the router
Password: This can be found on the bottom of the router

From the list on the left hand side, click on ‘Router Status’.
Within the Router Status section there are two areas you will be able to access:

Show Statistics
Connection Status

The Router Status page gives you a detailed status overview of the connection configured on the Wireless router.
Click ‘Connection Status’ to see more information on the broadband connection.
If you have already configured your broadband, you are able to establish/terminate the connection by clicking Connect/Disconnect.
You can also click ‘Show Statistics’ to show you current connection speed and more information on your Broadband connection.
Clicking on Basic Settings enables you to check all the Internet settings of your Broadband connection. Including the Login name (username) and password, IP address and type of connection.
Clicking on ‘Test’ will perform a standard check of your Internet connection and settings.
ADSL SETTINGS
The ‘ADSL Settings’ section provides you with some more information about your Internet connection. These are:
Multiplexing Method
VPI
VCI
WIRELESS SETTINGS
This section gives you full information regarding the Wireless connection. From here, you can change security settings, the SSID (Name) of the router and the access control list. Options list from:
Name(SSID) virgin broadband (default)
Region Europe(default)
Channel 11(default)
Mode g&b(default)
Enable Wireless Access point
Allow broadcast name
Security options (None, WEP and WPA)
- hope this helps

No because the VOIP need to be loged in first. if you have the voip first then the wireless router and you turned off the router dchp section part of the wireless modem then perhaps it will work, plus you need a voip account.
