Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Konica Minolta Bizhub 250

The copier was working when I arrived, it was asking for a drum. I changed the drum and went to clear the counter. It went into a C2557 error code. Can anybody help?

I've had this a couple of times. Bit of a pain the black & white 250's for this fault.

Basically when you change the drum (and dev) you need to go into service mode anf run an F7 asap.

If the machine doesn't allow you to run an F7, you need to go into counters and reset the drum/dev one.

Bit of a pig cos all you're hearing is 'bee-bo-bee-bo'!

The error code appearing on our bizhub250 is c2557

. Might want to have the developer replaced and drum/cleaning blade normally done all together, then run the F8 procedure and make sure the counters where cleared. Did you recently replace the drum and the developer if so did you clear the counters for the drum and developer, FIRST. IF not then the copier thinks the new drum and new developer are old. The copier works on the counters that is how it knows it got a new drum and developer. Get new developer and a new drum and have it installed correctly. Counters are clear before the unit is yanked out of the machine, then you remove the image unit/drum unit replace the developer/drum and cleaning blade. (DO NOT USE A VACUUM CLEANER WHEN REPLACING THE DEVELOPER static electricity can destroy the sensor located below the developer unit. Then reinstall and RUN F8. Make sure the fax line and Ethernet cable is removed can't print anything until the F8 is run. Or you will start all over again with new developer and a new drum.

Ican't run F8 because of error C2557

Error c2557 means ATDC sensor abnormality. Most probably the developer is very low or weak in such condition.Check the developer. You can also increase ATDC GAIN in technical representative mode in order to get rid of this problem.
Also check the PC life/consumables life in "Counter"---"Special Parts life counter".Check if the life of PC Drum is 100% or near to 100 ten clear its value by pressing "C" button.Clear all counters to zero value. Now restart the machine and run F8.It will run smoothly. If you are replacing new developer then there would be no problem with it.

Reset it, start it with the right door open, go to service mode, clear the counters for drum and developer and go to functions menu. Close the right door and start immediately the F8 function. It should work.
