If the heater is flashing #12, check to make sure nothing is in front of the outside vent. I went out to check mine and there was no snow or ice around it, BUT there was a snow bank 1/2 foot IN FRONT OF IT. I shoveled the bank to below the vent level and the heater began working again.

code 12 is low gas pressure, or that the flame sensors are not picking up a flame, try removing the flame rods, in a rinnai infinity when you pull the cover off they are right in the middle, you can use a file to clean any carbon etc off,

Actually the Rinnai 1004 has an E2prom chip in it that should hold your last setting. If there is a power outage longer than 12 hours, you may have to reset it

Try and unplug you heater for a few hours and see if the settings stayed. Extend the durration until you find the point of no return. Check all the error codes stored in the unit by holding down on the Economy button as well as the up and down arrows all at the same time. Because you will need both hands to do this, get a friend to write them down as they are displayed.

The rinnai website is not abvailable.

My Rinnai 1004F giving me error code 99

This fusible link may be open. Try jumpering the two leads and see if the unit operates. If it does replace the fusible link. Do not operate the unit without the fusible link for an extended period. It is a safety device and is there for a reason. Hope this helps.

After being off all summer i click on but it wont fire up i checked for carbon the tank is full i have a rinnai 1004f

Do you get an error code? 11. 12 68, 72, etc. Does the combustion motor come on. You should be able to hear it. Is the exhaust and air pipe clear? Is the air hose hooked to the back of the stove?

I have a rinnai energy saver 1004f heater and as soon as I turn it on, it starts blinking either the number 11 or 12 and the heat shuts off. Help!

Ignition failure caused by either lack of gas, the electrodes are not the correct gap, restriction in the venting system or the spark is grounding prior to the electrodes. Check spark by holding spark wire close to cabinet (1/4"). Check gap across bull horns (electrodes) they should be no more than 3/16. Make sure all gas valves are on and all wires to gas valve are tight. After these checks, you will need a qualified technician to perform some tests on components.

I have the rinnai energy saver 1004f.. Do I have to put water in it for it to work?

Absolutely not. It does help with the humidity but you will find it empty each day because air blows over the water tray when on.

is this a vented or non vented unit? have you checked the rinnai distributorship? call Adirondack Hardware in Keeseville NY. They have parts for Toyostove, Monitors and Rinnai heaters. Their staff are very well versed in all kero and propane heaters.

#14 is the code for over heat. Clean the circulating fan and blower blades. If there is anything on the top of the heater it need to go. Check the sides to make sure nothing is obstructing the air entering the back of the unit.

Blinking 12 and I have no manual to indicate what that means.

A 12 code indicates a "Flame Failure" check that the gas valve on the right side of the unit is turned on. If you are using propane have you confirmed that the tank has fuel? You may be able to download the owners manual from the Rinnai website. If not you can contact themat 1-800 621-9419.
This is a great heater and the Rinnai people will be helpful. good luck!
