Vista is 64 bit OS, server 2003 standard is 32 bit. Change Server 2003 to Server 2003 R to get compatible. See Microsoft website. May suggest Server 2008.

Good luck.

How to change your DNS (Domain Name Server) on your Windows computer. Faster...

Hi Thanks for looking.

Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) provide you with Domain Name Server which translates website names to language that computer can understand which is an IP address of the website. Faster the response from DNS the faster your website will load.

In this tip I will explain how to change your Domain Name Server (DNS) in order to speed up your web browsing.

Go to

Start--->Control Panel--->Network Connections
Please note that you may need to switch to "Classic view of Control Panel in order to see default view.

Right click on network connection that you are currently using and choose "Properties"From the list in box choose "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click "Properties" below. You will be shown a window with two tabs and in General Tab you will have options to change your IP address (we don't want to touch this)and option to set DNS manually.
Click on " Use the following DNS address"Now you can change your DNS to whatever you like. I recommend "Open DNS" which is faster then most of default DNS's.
Ok to change your DNS to "Open DNS you need to type 208.67.222.222 in preferred DNS box and 208.67.220.220 in Alternate DNS box.Click OK and then OK again.

Bravo! You just changed your DNS.

I want to setup vpn in vista starter, how?

You cannot setup a vpn connection in vista starter. VPN is not supported in the "starter" edition of windows vista. You have to upgrade to vista home or above.

TIP is a complete encrypted VPN solution for private internet communications.
Tiptunnel is designed for individuals accessing the Internet from insecure Internet connections, such as wireless, or from countries with restrictive Internet filtering systems.
Anonymous Internet surfing by default simply doesn't happen but it is possible. The most basic way of protecting your identity is to use an anonymous VPN to hide your IP address when you are surfing. Your communications can still be intercepted as the majority of that web traffic is in the clear but it's less likely unless someone is deliberately targeting you, the main benefit is that your IP address is not left in the logs of the web servers and your web browsing will remain more private.

TIP Tunnel Enterprise package includes:

* Anonymous surfing
* IP Address Obscurity, your real IP address is hidden
* Bypass Internet filtering by your ISP

Resolution Suggestion One:

# Test your Internet connection to Windows Update.

A simple solution but one that works in many circumstances!

Test to determine if your Internet connection is preventing you from reaching the Windows Update Web site. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Windows Update Web site to determine if you can download the Iuident.cab file:

http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v4/iuident.cab

If a file download dialog box appears, the problem is not with your Internet connection. Click Cancel. If you cannot connect to this link, and you receive a "Page Cannot Be Displayed" error message, your Internet connection is preventing you from reaching the Windows Update site.

I TRY THIS OPTION AND I HAVE NO PROBLEM

-----------------------------------------------

Resolution Suggestion Two:

# Reconfigure or update your firewall program.

Reconfigure or update your firewall program so that Windows Update is not blocked, and then try to update your computer again by using Windows Update. For information about how to reconfigure or update your firewall program, see the documentation that was included with the program, view the Help files for your program, or contact the manufacturer's technical support department.

e.g It my mean Opening TCP/IP 443 in both directions for this process: %windir%\system32\svchost.exe

I DONT HAVE A FIREWALL PROGRAM.
-----------------------------------------------

Resolution Suggestion Three:

# Remove Windows Update entries from the HOSTS file.

To remove Windows Update entries from the HOSTS file, follow these steps:

-Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Notepad
-On the File menu, click Open.
-In the Files of type box, click All Files.

-Double-click to open the hosts file.
-Remove any lines that contain entries for Windows Update (http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com).
-On the File menu, click Save.
-Close Notepad.

I have seen the 0x80072EFD error resolved by this tip many times...

HERE I AM... I DON'T HAVE A HOSTS FILE... I NEED TO STOP HERE
AND SOLVE SOMETHING?

WHAT HAPPEN WITH THE NEXT SUGGESTIONS?
I TRY THEM ALREADY BUT THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE.
