What type of head unit are you using its different for each one. e.x. for alpine you cant just hook up one wire and its done, unless its just the monitors (for rear seat entertainment) if its an alpine head unit you need whats called a (TR7) made by a company called PAC. if it is the rear seat monitors from alpine, like the (tme-m710) not sure if its the same for all monitors. you need to look at the wire side of the 10 pin harness where the yellow/blue wire is the second from the top right you need to move that pin to the bottom right position then hook that wire up to ground which should be the wire in the very bottom left pin (black). that will bypass the monitor itself but if the head unit is locked it wont matter start with that first.

You need to put the dvds handbrake wire to a suitable earth point and then your dvds will play fine i think the wirings colour is a yellow with a blue tracer line on the wire if its an alpine dvd player and the same is on all the monitors themselves that wire will have to be connected to a good earthing point but luckily on the monitors they have a black earth wire running to them so just splice that yellow/blue wre into the black earth wire on each headrest monitor !

How do i wire up m Kenwood KVT-696 so that i can play DVD's, it shows a blue screen saying 'parking off' do i connect my AV in or AV out cords coming from the head unit?

For safety, the KVT-696, like other 'head units,' is design so that, properly installed, it will only work while the vehicle is in Park, with the parking brake ON. Makes sense if you think about it. Hey?

Monitor showing no signal and button not working

The monitor needs a signal ( source), i.e., DVD, TV, to show a picture. If your monitor shows no signal then either the source is not connected or not functioning. Check the connections from the monitor to the source. Also, check that the source is functioning properly and is receiving power.

My legacy 15.1 monitor dont want to show pic just show blue screen and says no signal

Hey jag0717
Many problems arise down to physical component issues so try these things before trying anything else.

  1. Double check all cables are correctly inserted
  2. Make sure power is being sent to all devices in the loop
  3. Try the source (Set-Top box, Games Console) on another monitor first if possible
  4. Make sure the monitor is set to the correct output. (HDMI, VGA, Compenent)
After all this has been tested you can easily isolate the problem to be down to the monitor itself.
Let me know the results and good luck!

I have a question about my monitor. How do I know there is power going to my monitor? When I play a movie everything works...sound, dvd player, etc, but there is no power to the monitor. the monitor does...

If this is an over head, all in one dvd player, well,if the player works and the sound, and the dome lights...it has power. The issue may reside with the monitor being disconnected (ribbon cable) or the monitor is done.

What can i do to wacht dvds?

you must have connected the safety feature to the hand brake.
this disconnects the dvd from working until the hand brake is applied. you will need to attatch this wire to a ground connection to enable it to be played while moving

Kenwood kvt-719dvd plays dvd but wont show picture

It is probably that the parking safety wire wasn't hooked up properly, or at all. Most in dash dvd players are equipped with a motion safety device to prohibit the driver from viewing movies and such on the monitor while the vehicle is in motion. The wire for this needs to be hooked to the parking brake light wiring. This will ensure that when the parking brake is on, the dvd can sense that the vehicle is stopped, and should therefore show the image.

One of my screens shows the video upside down

It could be that the monitor was installed upside-down; other than that, check the settings on whatever device your feeding video to the screen with- a PC, a DVD player? It might have rotation settings.
