Yes I have the same problem. TV worked fine one day, would not turn on the next. Red lights blink on front when I press power on TV or remote. Nothing more happens. I have removed the back, all looks fine. Does not appear as though anything has been hot or overheated.

I unpluged it for a few minutes to see if it would reset. (Nothing)

Label states Manufactured October 1996. Model KP-46S25. I bought it new. No other problems.

    Please help.

    Thanks,

    Doug

I push the power button and the 'standby/timer' light flashes as I hear a click and then about 2-3 sec later I hear another click and light goes off.

    Please help,

We just started to have the same problem as listed above with the same kind of TV (Sony KP 46S25). I read the solutions, but I do not know what a Convergence amp is, what a CRT is or where the high voltage circuit is. Can someone help?

Something is preventing the power supply from operating:
Possible causes in order of likelihood:
1) Convergence amps failed overloading the supply (See if you can disconnect them)
2) High Voltage circuit has died. (Right on schedule if your TV is 10 years old)
3) One of the CRTs has shorted
4) The power supply itself has died (Is there a lot of dust covering it?)
See if you can isolate the failure by working down the list.
Hope Ya Fix it!

Which one is the Convergence Amps? Is it easy to disconnect?

My Sony KP-46S25 TV is blinking red light and is not turning on, please advise.

Please update this with the blink count. The standby light shouldbe blinking a repeated count with a pause. This will indicate the problem circuit and allow me to provide you with the probable defective part(s).

Thanks,
Dan

You have to find the reason why the fuse is blowing. to do that you have to open the up the TV anyway. try another fuse and see if it burns. fuses blow because there is more current going through it than the fuse amperage can hold. it is probably a burnt resistor.
