Question about UPS Battery Backup Systems
I purchased an APC BP500UC in 1999. I have recent installed the 3 battery in the unit. I used to click on Power Management (PM) and had a readout on the Desktop of the charge on the battery and a pointer that I could set to warn me when the battery is getting low.
I have the original CD-ROM used in the install Process but I haven't uninstalled the PM program and reinstalled. Is it possible to insert the CD-ROM in and reinstall over the existing program or must I go to Control Panel ..... Power Management ..... Add/Remove ......remove the program that is installed and reinstall using the CD-ROM?
Would that procedure put the capability to monitor the battery on a regular basis back in the PM Window on the Desktop. Need help Thanks Jack F Ray firstname.lastname@example.org
No remove the old program first always. Then reinstall. Make sure you have device no plugged in.
