Problem with display

I wanted to change the display for the screensaver and i must have accidently changed something else in themes/displays because now my hotmail and gmail accounts are no longer in the beta setting and i can't get the display to go back to the way it was. In gmail I can't see the little buttons on my contacts list and in hotmail I can't tell if I have replied to items or not. How do I go back to the settings that i had. I have this problem with both browers....Firefox and Explorer?

Sounds like a resolution problem. Try lowering your display resolution.

THE MONITOR I USE FOR MY COMPUTER IS A SAMSUNG 50" PROJECTION TV THAT CAN BE USED WITH CABLE,PC, HDMI,WISELINK,AND SOMETING ELSE . MY PROBLEM IS I HAVE A MATROX MULTI MONITER WITH G55+ MDHA32DB NUMBER ON...

What OS are you running? Can you access your OS in Safe Mode ?

If so: access the Device Manager (by right-clicking on My Computer, selecting Manage from the available options. Then select Device Manager on the right). Uninstall your Matrox display card. This forces your computer to re-install it, with default settings when your computer restarts.

On my Windows 8 system:
(Window key + P) bring up a menu that lets me select whether I want to use my Primary Display only, have things Duplicated over both displays, have things Extended over both displays, or use my External Display only.

Holding in the Windows key, then pressing the P key once - cycles to the next available option. Letting both keys go, selects that option.

Keep doing this until the display that you want to use initialises. You should then be able to make the changes to the settings that you want to.

How can i change the colors of my desktop back to normal. i have a old school desk top the box ones

You should be able to go into display properties and select Windows Classic as the theme.
Right click on Desktop
Select Properties
On Theme tab select Windows Classic and then click apply.

If you have customized the Windows Classic theme and saved as Windows Classic, then you will need to edit the registry to remove those customizations. If this is the case, reply to this solution and I will research and let you know where to make the changes. Beware that incorrectly modifying the registry can cause the system to not boot or have other problems.

Best of luck, Jim

The text size on my computer is too small. I can't figure out how to increase it. Please help

1. Right-click the Desktop and select Properties.
2. Save the current screen settings so if you're unhappy with the results, you can back the changes out. Select the Themes tab, click Save As, and enter the name Original Display Settings. Click OK.
3. Select the Appearance tab, change the Font Size drop-down to Large Fonts, and click Apply to view the new text size. The text in the dialog won't change but the desktop and Start menu will. You can also try the Extra Large Fonts setting.
4. You can also click Advanced, select individual elements of the Windows display, and change their sizes, although this is more difficult to do and the results are less rewarding.
5. If want to back out all of the changes you made, go back to the Themes tab, open the Theme drop-down, select the entry that says Original Display Settings Without "(Modified)", and clickOK.

My monitor keeps going black.. so I shut off the switch on the monitor; then turn it back on; then its ok.. but after sometimes just a few seconds it does it again... goes black again.. sometimes its...

Under display settings, it's best to use default theme like vista or xp theme. You can also go to screensaver, then power options and set how long it takes for monitor to shut off. I also recommend updating the video card drivers.

Cannot get rid of an unwanted program .

here's manual antivirus xp 2008 removal
http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-antivirus-xp.html

If you are having problems with your desktop or getting the nasty message when you boot up follow the instructions below, but use the above link to remove the virus. YES THIS IS A VIRUS AND NOT A VIRUS REMOVAL TOOL!

First you need to stop the program from loading on startup. This is what you do to stop it:

Start, run

Type msconfig

Go to Startup tab
(if you've totally removed the antivirus program, you will not find these files and you can skip to the gpedit.msc step)

Uncheck lphc35dj0e1an
Uncheck rhc75dj0e1an

Click apply, then ok
Restart computer

Then you need to delete the main files this program uses. Delete the following file:

C:\windows\system32\lphc35dj0e1an.exe

Delete the following folder and all contents:

C:\program files\rhc75dj0e1an

This should remove the program from your system but you probably still have a warning message displayed as your wallpaper in Windows and the virus removed the ability to change the wallpaper or your desktop settings.

To restore ability to change your desktop settings and select a different wallpaper and screen saver do the following:

Start, run

type Gpedit.msc

Navigate to User configuration, Administrative Templates, Control Panel, Display

Right click on Remove Display in Control Panel
Click on Properties and select Disabled

Do the same steps to change the following attributes to disabled:

Hide Desktop Tab
Prevent changing wallpaper
Hide Apperance and Themes tab
Hide Settings tab
Hide Screen Saver tab

You should now be able to use your computer normally and change the wallpaper/screensaver to something other than the warning message Antivirus XP 2008 set it to.
