Re: Kodak easyshare 5300
It sounds like you have a bad contact between the printhead and the printer. First remove the inktanks. then remove the printhead. Now re-insert the printhead and remove it - do this a few times. What this is doing is scraping off anything that is blocking the full contact between the printhead and the printer. It should only need to be re-inserted like 3-5 times. Then leave the printhead in and install the inktanks and print again. If this does not work call Kodak and request a replacement printhead (they should not charge you its not your fault this is happening) or return the unit to where you purchaced it and ask for a new one. Once you get rid of the problem you will like the printer they do print great quality photos for such a low cost ink.

Try this one, Turn on the printer, Take out the inks, remove the printhead, put back the printhead make sure it will snap and you hear a click, put the inks back, wait for the printer to initialize, Press the Menu button, look for Calibrate printer, then print calibration page, then scan it after. Load a regular paper. Then try to print a demo page by pressing Photo and Copy at the same for 5 seconds then let it go. If same problem persist call this no for further assistance 1800 421 6699 Thanks
press the menu button on the printer and go to clean print head and do a basic clean........make sure you are using genuine Kodak ink cartridges as there are retailers selling refilled and look alike.........if you still have same issue then its a print head issue and call kodak tech support they will replace it for you without any charge....let me know if this was helpful.........
I had a problem with my Kodak printer. I called Kodak explained the problem, they told we what would fix it and they sent me the part, extra ink cartridges, and some photo paper, all free of charge. So I would suggest calling Kodak and let them know what it is doing I'm sure they can help...
when replacing the printhead you will see a number of circles at the back of the print head , you press on this and the print head will snap in place, I found this very difficult initially as you do need to use some force. Actually I phoned Kodak help line and they directed me how to replace the print head on the phone, Kodak appear quite happy to solve problems and if you find it still difficult they will guide you. Apparently these kodak printheads are a common fault and need a regular replacement when the printing loses colour!!
Remove the ink cartridge.....using a cotton bud wipe the excess ink off the cartridge nozzels...while at it try to clean the service station area (area where the print cartridge returns to after printing) for ink build ups do a through cleaning ....should work for you
Please dont forget to vote if this worked for you....or keep posting if there was no difference
1-Deep clean and calibrate the printhead
2-Try a firmware update @ www.kodak.com/go/downloads
3-Try a removal and reinstall of the printhead and inks
If all this fails, call Kodak Aio support : 1-800-421-6699 (USA)
I just sussed this issue out. On the front of the printer tray there is another pull out tray, this opens up and must activate the photo printing for A4 because it stops the paper falling on the floor once printed (cos once printed on photo paper it may still be wet). As soon as I opened the tray (and it then opens again - you'll see what I mean) it printed A4 photo paper perfectly
Hope this helps others
