    will not drain -Help!

  • TN cowgirl Feb 14, 2008

Yes, it washes fine. i think it was in the rinse cycle, when the
circuit breaker tripped. It did not have a large load in the basket.
It was on small load with 2 ball caps. Thanks,

tech 17 -switched cord to top recepticle.Yes, it washes fine,rinses--but will not
spin--it is on small load.Right now -there is 3''-4'' water in tub. Thanks,.

  • TN cowgirl Feb 14, 2008

It agitates fine --everything is o.k.--except the spin cycle.
I am not brave enough to set it on full load. Thanks

tech17, Console panel back is off,I looked around and
checked to see if all is plugged in. I do not know what a jumper
wire is--but you are right about the lid switch. Spin is not functioning
    in any of the cycles--Thanks

ok if all the water drained this time and it didnt trip the breaker then we have a possiable bad lid switch if you look on the back of the control panel toward the bottom of the end caps there are two screws back them out and pull the panel slightly foward then tilt it back on the left hand side you will see a small plastic switch unplug it and put a jumper wire across the terminals to bypass the switch then put it on spin see if it spins

At end of washing machine fast spin the machine trips my electricity circuit and TV switches off along with other appliances. Can you tell me what's wrong with machine?

This tells me that you do not have an overload situation. There is a short, and/or one or more faulty breakers possibly including the main breaker.
Even an experienced DIY'er with electrical knowledge would probably contact an electrician at this point. If there is a potential problem with the main breaker then it is best to get professional help.

Spin cycle trips house circuit breaker on my GE top loading washer

Hello,

The very likely reason the breaker trips only on spin is because the tub bearing is locked up on the washer since it is locked up its causing way excessive friction at the motor which causes the breaker to trip. Can you rotate the tub by hand or does it seem really hard to rotate by hand indicating that the tub is ceased up due to the tub bearing??

Washer keeps blowing fuses

Do you mean the houses circuit breaker? If so, WHEN in the cycle does it blow the circuit breaker? WHEN it trips will tell you what to look at. I.E. If the circuit breaker trips during the fill cycle then it would be the walter inlet valve or the timer in the control panel; if it trips as soon as it is in the agitator cycle - then the motor or transmission; if it trips in the spin cycle - then the drain pump or transmission or control panel.

Washer fills but trips breaker when trying to start wash cycle. Does the same with rinse and spin cycles and when plugged into another circuit

Hi there
OK thank for writing to fix ya. Sounds like your breaker can't support your washer so you need to replace you breaker where it can handle you washer. just go up another 30amps on your breaker and try that. let me know how that goes.
Best regards Richard

Why does my washing machine trip the electric

run the machine, after it trips, unplug and carefully touch the motor,it may have a bad capacitor, or dry bearings causing it to draw excessive current,if these 2 things are not it, then look for a bare wire that may be touching case during this part of the cycle, and if you can get an "Amprobe" it reads current and check machines current draw during the start to trip current

Flashing lights and trips the electric

Are you around when the breaker trips? It almost seems as though an electrical connection is getting wet. Especially if it won't let you reset the breaker. Another reason for not letting you reset the breaker could be an overload that tripped but that to me would be within the machine, it shouldn't trip at the panel. You get pull the machine apart and check for these things. Look for and wetness or wire connections being crossed, anything like that. Something at the spin cycle is shorting out and tripping out your breaker. Also is your dryer circuit properly sized (30AMP Breaker with 10/3 wire)?
