Yes, this is rare but I have seen it before--not fixable if it is what I think it is----It is what is called a Dome effect---the shadow mask in the picture tube is actually contracting and or expanding depending on temperature---
Directly behind the phosphor coating (the stripes that you see on the screen) is a metal screen--the holes or perforations in it line up with the stripes on the phosphor screen.
Some masks either have a material or a defect causing the dome effect----Not likely to be anything else---a Pin amp problem will not usually act the way you describe but a shadow mask inside the picture tube will act exactly that way.
Did set have this problem before you replaced the STKS?
I know these sets very well. If problem is different in any way from before you replaced chips.......double check all soldering or one of the new chips may be defective.
By blurry, I'm assuming that the 3 colors do not line up and may be bowed on the top and bottom. If this is the case you have bad convergence. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4220499-change_projection_tv_convergence_ics which explains the problem, how to repair the unit and where to get the parts. Let me know if you need more help.
Find a large rifle and put it out of its misery. Bowing is either from a problem in the pincushion correction circuit or the convergence circuit. Blurry picture or poor color rendition is most likely bad CRTs ( picture tubes)
This is a convergence problem that you can fix if you can solder. Let me know if you wish to attempt the repair and I'll post additional details and instructions.
