Phones won't ring

There are 6 phones in our office and the only one that rings is the display phone on my desk. This causes a problem because we have staff who work upstairs but cannot hear the phone ring in order to answer it if I am away from my desk. can you tell my how I can fix this problem? Thanks

the model of the display phone is prostar 816 plus which, according to our user manual, does not accomodate programming codes higher than #17

If you have one display phone and the other phones are not, then you may not be able to have all phones ring at once
Please let me know the brand name of the phone and the model, if possible.

Are they all connected to the same line but via different sockets? Are you using some office telephone system?

All the phones should be connected to the same phoneline, for examble you can pick up the phone in the lower floor and at the sametime on the 2nd floor and you can yell at your staff for free. Without calling any numbers. Also they all should ring at the same time when connected to the same phone line.

I think you currently have the phones on difrent phonelines / numbers.

Also by haveing all the phones on the same phoneline only one call can be made at a time.

Instead of putting all the phones on the same phoneline you could take one phone, on the same phonenumber / line as your desk phone and take it to upstairs. thisway both phones will ring.

When calls come into the office ext. 10 rings. It's the receptionist's desk. However ext. 29 rings too. How can I stop ext. 29 from ringing on all incoming calls?

Changing ringing on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11.
At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
Next press the left hand intercom twice
The display should say system programming

Press the right hand intercom once. The display should say Central telephone Programming.

Enter in the extension number that you want to program.

Press the line that you want to ring.
A solid light on the line means immediate ringing
A slow flashing light means delayed ringing (meaning the phone will wait 3 rings before starting to ring.)
A fast flashing light means no ringing.

When finished with that station press the right hand intercom and enter in the next extension to program and set ringing accordingly.

Press feature "00" to logout

1.) Are you refering to outside lines ringing?

2.) What if someone dials you on intercom does it ring then?

If #1 the phone SYSTEM usually has an option that you have to program and add you to the ring pool for the outside lines.

If #2 does not ring it is also a function to disallow ring, but it very well could be the phone. Since the line is all that matters and NOT the phone, you could try another phone at your location and see if the same happens. If it does, you will need to program the SYSTEM from either Ext. 10 or 11 to add you to the ring pool and allow ring.

The easiest thing to do is use Direct Pickup Feature.
When the phone is ringing dial Feature 76
Dial internal number of a phone that is ringing (also refered as extension number)
You just answered a ringing phone at your desk.

If you have login information for Feature **config, I can help you set up your phone to be ringing as well.

Cheers
