I am thinking of buying a HD ready flat screen LCD Tv/Monitor. And will be wanting to use my xbox 360 on it with HDMI. The problem is that there is no HDMI socket. I found a cable that has a DVI socket on one side and a HDMI on the other to plug to the Tv from the Xbox 360. I heard that no sound will carry through this cable. If no sound does carry can i plug some speakers into the phono sockets and get sound through them?

lololol HD to standard video - standard video back to HD is going to cause some issues. Go straight HD to HD with a hdmi to dvi instead. Even if your tv cant do HD theres a loss of information and signal for every adapter you put in and the length of the cord.
It is a standard VGA cable, depending on your PC's monitor output, you can use HDMI or DVI to HDMI, and the audio would go to component input 3's audio in. I'm not sure if your TV has a mini input next to the VGA input for audio. I could not pull your exact model from Panasonics's USA or UK site. If you need audio as well, check in your TV's manual for cable type and location. Hope this helps
You will need an HDMI to DVI cable which are available in the shops, even ASDA has one but I don't know how good it is. Or you can buy an adapter that will plug into one of the ends of the HDMI cable and then plug into the DVI socket at the back of the TV. The DVI input is video only so you will need audio leads for sound. These will connect from the output of your source, say, blue ray or sky HD (Left and right audio sockets ) to the audio L/R at the back left of the TV (on the block next to the three component video connections and s-video connections)
yes sir..i think you must looking and buy VGA adapter 15 to HDMI complete with the HDMI cable set. you can find this adapter at the computer spare part store or electronic part store. not cheap but very usefull for you in the next day. is very easy to connecting...plug you adapter to the output VGA VAIO.. connect the HDMI cable to adapter (like USB) and the rest to the input at your samsung lcd...good luck..
Most TV's have problems doing 1080p over component. Dial the Xbox back to 1080i. Make sure the big switch on the Xbox AV cable is set to 'HDTV' not 'TV'(common problem) If the problem persists, try plugging into different hookups, use HDMI (if your console supports it) or buy one of the HDMI adaptors from PDP or MadCatz if your console doesnt. HDMI will reduce the clutter and will make 1080p a reality.
If your telly has no HDMI then I assume it mus have DVI instead. You can buy a DVI to HDMI adaptor from most good electrical stockists but the only problem is the financial one for the extra cost for the leads :-) Hope this helps.
