Question about Samsung Digimax S800 Digital Camera
My camera powered on then off so i took it apart, I found the cogs that move the lens in and out were not meshing together so I manually moved the lens all the way out, then I put the pins that were holding the cogs into allignment with each other and It worked.

I have the same problem Having forced the lens out, it retracts when I power off and back to square one. My solution is to force the lens out (was horrible grating sound) and then power off by opening the battery door. The lens stays out when you power on again and it still takes good pictures. Not ideal but better than a new camera.

Who ever previously posted this answer is THE MAN....
All I did was gently pull on my lens and reinstalled new batteries (Just in Case).
Then I powered on the camera and eveything worked Fine. Not sure what caused it to happen in the first place but very greatfull everything is working again.
Great Site for help.......Thanks

Lens mechanism can be stuck. Try gently to drag or straighten it.
