Question about Acer Aspire™ T180 PC Desktop

Computer shutdown I purchased my computer in October of 2007. I am continually experiencing shutdowns/computer lockup when I am using the computer. What can I do to correct this problem?

I have an Acer Aspire 5630 laptop and it locks up without warning. The lock up only lasts for about 8-10 seconds and then the problem disappears. I suspect it may be interference atacking the wireless card, as I run from a router in another room. When I am hardwired to the modem this does not happen. I have increased the ram by double to 2 gig. I am also on my second mother board and still get lock ups.

Observe if the processor cooling fan is spinning that cools your processor. Or your unit need cleaning where the vents of your laptop is clogged with dust and the cooling system will be affected that made your system shutdown automatically

PC Getting auto shutdown

The most common reason of a PC getting auto shutdown is that the processor may be getting over heated.
Every processor has a TjMax temperature. when the processor reaches that temperature, it starts throttling(slow down) and if it continues to become more hotter then it automatically sends a shutdown signal to the Computer

Solution:-
  • Clean the Heat-sink.
  • Check the fan speed.
  • clean the cabinet.
  • use thermal paste over thee processor.
  • Make sure there is proper ventilation in your cabinet.
Hope this may help you......cheers:)..plz vote

I have an Optiplex 210L and want to add on a video card. I came across an EVGA GeForce 9400gt 1GB PCI card and decided "why not!" after disabling the onboard video and setting the bios to auto (or look for...

Remove the GeForce card.
Enable the onboard video as "primary".
Start Windows.
Within Device Manager, remove the driver for the GeForce adapter.
Download the latest software software for the GeForce video-card,
and install it.
Shutdown.
Insert the GeForce card, and leave the onboard video as "Primary".
Start Windows.
It should treat the GeForce card as an "additional" video-adapter,
as if you had two monitors, side-by-side.
If it works in this configuration, shutdown.
Set the GeForce card to "primary" and restart.
If it works in this configuration, shutdown.
Set the onboard video to "disabled".
Restart.

Machine freeze up randomly. Must do a hard shutdown. Seems like a motherboard failure Does anyone know how I can get support for my M465-E laptop? MPC is not responding to any of my emails and their...

Hi, "marspkr": First you stated that you had to "do a hard shutdown" because of this unit locking up...then at the end of your message you stated that it "keeps rebooting itself over and over". Should usually be one or the other. As I stated above, with the laptop I was working on, it turned out to be a complete HD breakdown. Now the owner has to decide whether to purchase another Hitachi "Deathstar" or just give up and buy a new model. Usually 2 or 3 things would cause a complete lockup requiring a 'hard shutdown'. 1. HD failing, 2. Bad or unsupported RAM, or 3. Overheating onboard video. All of which are pretty crappy considering that neither GW or MPC are in the biz of customer support anymore.

If you are experiencing a constant rebooting scenario, I would reccommend going into safe mode and running any number of the freeware tools out there to help with malware/virus activity. For example: "MBAM", "ComboFix", "A-squared", "HiJack This", etc. Most of these tools have instructions at their site of origin and have always come in very handy for my use. Much luck to you.

Shut down icon

That is a strange problem.
I will help you to create a shortcut on your desktop for that icon, whenever you need to shutdown your computer, just click that shortcut on the icon.

Right click on the Desktop.
Left click on New > Shortcut.
11e9ffd.png
In the Type the location of the item: textbox enter
%windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -s

The -s parameter is used to shut down the computer.

The following two parameters can be used with -s:
-f Forces running applications to close without warning.
-t xx Set timeout for shutdown to xx seconds.

The following command would shut down instantly.
%windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -s -f -t 00

Click the Next > button.

02d9cba.png
In the Type a name for this shortcut: textbox enter
Shutdown My Computer (or some other name of your choice)

Click the Finish button.

Whenever you want to shutdown your computer, click the shortcut on your desktop that says ShutDown My Computer, and your comptuer will shut down the usual way, the way it used to shutdown.
