Ipod tower brookstone problem

The problem is with the speaker connector to your ipod. I have the same unit. Got to ebay and buy Pyle Home PIDOCK1 or similar docking station. This will solve your problem. You can plug this in and have full functionality back of your speaker. Don't bother trying to fix it these have a real problem with the connector and board buy yourself a docking station with remote for about $15 on ebay and it will fix you up. Plug into the input Jack and you are back in business. You can buy a Pyle Home PIDOCK1 Universal iPod/iPhone Docking Station cheap on ebay and it has a remote. It will fit nicely on your speaker and do everything you need it to do.

IPod Touch 4th Gen will dock. Will Charge. Can use remote control to play, and shuffle songs from iPod, but sounds will not come through speakers on Philips SBD8100 Speaker Dock for iPod and iPhone

Hi Sniper326,
try cleaning the input socket of the Philips Speakers with a cotton bud, try cleaning the socket of the Ipod touch cable as well.

Have you tried using the IPod touch with different speakers? and does it work? if so the problem lies with your Philips speakers.

I hope this helps, good luck!

Don't how to connect iphone to ear speaker

moz-screenshot-12.pngmoz-screenshot-13.pngmoz-screenshot-14.pngmoz-screenshot-15.png honestytessy.jpgHow to Connect an iPod to a Speaker Bar

A speaker bar is a (usually portable) speaker system that includes a dock for an iPod. The unit is usually bar-shaped, with either a rectangular or cylindrical cross-section. Connecting an iPod to a speaker bar is usually as simple as plugging it in. Many speaker bars will also charge the iPod while it is connected. However some do not have an iPod dock, in which case the iPod must be connected by a 3.5mm audio cable.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

* 3.5mm cable (for some speaker bars)

Turn the iPod on. Look to see if the speaker bar has a dock for the iPod. The dock will fit an iPod perfectly and will generally be located in the center of the speaker bar. There will be a connector that resembles the connector on the docking cable that came with the iPod. Place the iPod on the docking station and turn on the speaker bar. Such is the case with the "2.1 Channel Bar Speaker with Dock for iPod" or the "Yamaha YAS-71BL Front Surround Speaker System"

iPod headphones use a 3.5mm audio cable.

honestytessy_0.jpg

Connect the iPod via the 3.5mm cable. If the speaker bar does not have a docking station it will have a 3.5mm cable connector with a jack like the headphone jack on iPod ear pods. Plug the 3.5mm cable in the iPod headphone jack. Plug the other end in the iPod. Turn on the speaker bar. The procedure is straight forward and Apple specifically designed the headphone jack with third party stereos in mind.

Select a song on the iPod and play it. The speaker bar will play the music from the iPod.

Hope that helped..

have a nice day.

Hello,
In a surround sound system, the correct way to listen to music is in stereo mode which will play out of your left and right channels and your subwoofer. When viewing a movie with surround sound, then you should use your rear speakers. The key element to remember is that rear speakers are only intended to play your sound effects, and will not play full range audio. Thats what your fronts and center are for. If you simply want to override this, than you will need to select the direct sound field on your receiver and than it will send full range audio to all speakers connected. Most likely, its not going to sound that good. If you dont know what each sound field does, here is a list and function of the most commonly used ones.
Stereo-Front Left and Right speakers including subwoofer
Dolby Digital or PLII Movie-these are the bost options for your surround sound
Direct-All speakers connected get full range signal
Good Luck

My 2yr old was playing with my ipod in my griffin speakers

Unfortunately, it sounds like she broke the jack inside of it. It has lost connection to the main circuit board, and is of course now useless. If you know what you are doing and it is NOT under warranty, you could try opening it and resoldering it, not that it will definitely work. Otherwise, if it is under warranty, back it up (if you can), and take it back to the store.
