Will there be any problem with a Speedstream 2624 router if I upgrade to Windows 7? My two computers now use XP/3 and Vista with no problems of access. Thanks.

Hi! There will be a problem with the wireless connection. I suggest before you go to windows 7, check at your router website if there is a new update for the firmware for windows 7.

My dear! alway remember that when you use any new hardware you should install driver first and then plug it with CPU. So it could be possible that when you install driver first then card will pick and work properly.

AWN154's driver for Windows XP

the driver from aziocorp DOES NOT WORK!

I spent a few days looking for it myself, and uploaded it to share with anyone that may need it. This driver does work.

Wireless card for compaq armando 7400 laptop

Any wireless card (PCMCIA slot or USB) will do provided a Windows 2000 driver is available for it. Unlike Windows XP and Vista where a built in wireless manager for the OS can be used, you must use the wireless manager that comes with the driver cd for your card. As for wireless type, Get either WIreless G or N. You can use Wireless B, but you get better range and throughput with G or N.

Want to try to utilize an old sony Vaio PCG-F520

OK you can certainly add wireless to this machine. But be careful which type you buy. If this machine has windows 98 you have to ensure the wireless adaptor will be compatible. . you have two choices for the adepter type either USB or PCMCIA (aka PC Card) I'd go for the PCMCIA version, it will be more likely to play well with the older system. Also, Dont buy a MIMO card, a simple 802.11B or 802.11G compatible card will work. these are in the sub $40 price.

Dont attempt to install XP or VIsta on this PC, it will be unbearably slow. Stick with 98 or better yet windows 2000.

-Good Luck

I have a wireless notebook adapter for my dell lattitude c400

Make sure that you insert the card in before booting up the computer. When Windows 2000 was created PCMCIA cards weren't hot swappable. If that doesn't do the trick, check linksys.com for updated Windows 2000 dirvers.

You can still update to Windows XP as well. Some computer stores still carry it. Wireless networking is managed much better under that operating system.
