Some of the older sets with PIP require only the original remote to operate or turn on and off.

The PIP board usually develops problems with surface mounted caps and there is a "modification" where traces are cut and two 4.7 mfd caps inserted which will bypass the PIP board from the set--a model number would tell me if this is possible in your set or not--you missing the original remote? Almost any Mitsubishi remote of the era with PIP controls should do the job.

If it has the feature buttons on the remote for it, swap, position etc.

Some older sets have to have signal routed to one of the rear video inputs for a source for the PIP. Newer sets have two tuners--one for main and one for PIP---if pulled up the swap will switch one picture for the other--some allow both on the screen at same time side by side.

Read the owner manual to see if the set has PIP.

Most of these sets have two tuners--one for main and one for PIP.

If main picture works fine but PIP is bad or Green? either the PIP tuner or the PIP board is bad---these were known to have the PIP have problems but it was more rare than their sets made before it.

PiP for your TV works between two different sources. This means between a component source and an HDMI source or between an HDMI source and another HDMI source. PiP also works with a PC connection, e.g. when using the TV as a computer display. PiP does not work between two component sources. The setting will be grayed out when you don't have a configuration that is supported, as the Samsung TV's are usually able to automatically detect which sources are plugged in and available.


I'm not exactly sure what sort of configuration you want your PiP to work in, but try one of the following configurations.

• TV Cable (through VCR or other via Component input) with Satellite in PiP (via HDMI input)
• PS3 (via HDMI Input) with Satellite in PiP (via Component Input)
• Wii via HDMI Input) with PS3 in PiP (via HDMI Input)

You can usually find an HDMI cable for much cheaper at an electronics supplies shop, Radio Shack, or on eBay or Gumtree.
To change your PiP settings:

1. Press the MENU button on the remote control. Select Picture and press Enter.
2. Select PIP and press Enter.
3. Press the enter button again, and press up or down to change the setting to On and press enter again.
   Note: If PIP is activated the screen will display in widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio.)
4. Press the up or down buttons to select the Source then press the Enter button.
   Select the source of the sub-picture by pressing the up and down arrows and then pressing the Enter button.
   Note: The sub-picture can serve different source selections based on the what the main source is set to.
   Note: You may notice that the picture in the PIP window becomes slightly unnatural when you use the main screen to view a game or karaoke.

yes, it has pip. Use the menu to select the pip setting.

somw sets you need to set up in the set-up menu what signal source is shown in the pip box. to turn it off push the pip button on the remote once

I have the Olevia TV with RC-LTU remote, To get rid of PIP just press the (VIEW) button twice.

PIP active requires two seperate signal sources delivered to the tv.... set-top box is ok, split signal---give half to box,then to set via A / V cables, the other half directly to set......Did you consult
owners manual?.........T.
