Question about Kodak EasyShare V610 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Frozen?! My camera's been fine for a year now, but it just froze a second ago! I was only taking a couple of pictures, pressed 'review' to see what I'd taken, and then it froze! I've tried connecting it to the charger, but it's made no difference. I've also tried pressing all the buttons, but that's made no odds either. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

It locked up
although it may not sound safe, the only way to resolve or at least check camera condition further is to do a powercycle

remove the battery and card, wait for 10 seconds and but back the battery only - turn on the camera, check performance through internal and if ok, try it with the card
if not, go to www.kodak.com/go/itg for troubleshooting or repair

In the camera menu, there should be a setting for "review" to allow you to set the number of seconds the picture remains on the screen. Also, you can always review the pictures you've taken by pressing the review button on the camera...it's usually a button with an arrow that points to the right.

Horizontal lines on the screen after the picture is taken

Remove the Battery from the Camera then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Then, reinsert the Battery pack and turn on the Camera and reset it to the original factory settings by selecting the "Initialize" option under Setup1.

If the issue persists then service will be required.

It sounds like the light sensor on the camera is malfunctioning. Try cleaning the sensor. If the senor doesn't work at all it will not be able to tell when the camera is operationg in bright light. Kind of like having your eyes dialated and walking outside on a sunny day.

Kodak easyshare DX 7630 screen black in take a picture mode but is fine in review etc

Hey Wistra,
You could try resetting your camera to the factory settings by choosing the reset to default setting in the menu. If this doesn't work the sensor on the camera is most likely broken, and you should have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician. If the camera was purchased less than a year ago the repair would most likely be covered under manufacturers’ warranty. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan
