Question about Dell 942 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Installing 942 onto inspiron 5100 - can print, can't scan

Although when I unplug and plug the 942 into the computer, the printer icon acknowledges the different states, I can not get the scanning software to recognize the existence of the 942 - thoughts? Is there a new driver I should download?

    Sounds like the same problem I running into... I just upgraded to vista, and have the dell 942 printer. After downloading a new driver for vista (and getting rid of the old xp driver) the print/copy functionality works, but I can't get the scan/fax functionality to work. In the help instructions it say to open the "All-in-one Center". When I follow their directions I can't find an All-in-One Center, but find "Dell Solution Center" instead. Any ideas?

Try to fully uninstall the driver, restart computer and printer. download and reinstall driver from support.dell.com drivers and downloads website.

Have a dell 942 AIO. graphics in grey seem to print purple


what OS are u using ?

U may will have to unistall the driver Again ( make sure that the printer is unplugged) . run Patch .. ( Available at support.dell.com )

Reinstall the Printer drivers again ( downloading from Dell Website .. install them ( make sure that the cable is connected only when Prompted ) )
This should resolve the Problem

My kodak 5100 all in one printer will not print out my documents but only prints out what is on my scanner, how do i solve this?


did you recieved an error message printer not responding? If yes please double check the icons of printer on the printer and faxes, if you can see 2 icons delete both icons and unplug your USB cable, then restart computer.
Now if the computer is already restarted connect USB cable then try to print.

there are several reasons why it will not print using computer, there might a problem on USB cable and its connection or the drivers., Please verify the problem, or you may contact kodak toll free 1 800 421 6699. hey will help you on this issue., Gudluck!

yes delete driver and restart computer then reinstall driver. then update at printers oem web site.

Dell AIO 942 does not scan


I think scanning softwaere was not installed in your computer. so install scanning software. then the scanning will work properly. Pl give feedback

Had all-in-one center on computer now it's gone


Hi there,
  • Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
  • Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
  • restart the computer
  • try to download drivers from the website
  • after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
  • then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.

Black ink is faded or doesn't print at all


Once installed, Kodak All-in-One printer Home Center software allows you to print, copy, scan, and configure your All-in-One printer from your Windows XP or Vista computer.
To open the Home Center software window on your computer, use the Home Center icon on the Desktop or in the Start Menu

From the All-in-One printer Home Center main menu, selecting one of the six menu items enables you to:
  • Scan pictures and documents
  • Enhance and copy pictures
  • Enhance and print images
  • Configure settings for printing, copying, and scanning from the control panel
  • Access the Kodak Tips and Projects Center Web site.
  • Order supplies from the Kodak Web site.
