Peavey Compressor/Limiter and Peavey 3/4/5w Crossover

We had just purchased Peavey Compressor/Limiter and Crossover to be connected to our Power Amp Peavey GPS 2600 & 16-channel Peavey Mixer.
Im want to get assistance how to connect this to our system. My idea is from main out mixer to Compressor then to EQ then to Crossover then to amplifier. is my idea correct?
Another thing is i don't have idea how to adjust De-esser filter, expander threshold, compressor threshold, ratio, attack, comp. release and limiter control including our crossover unit.
Thank you very much.

    Dear Sir
I Savio Rodricks from Mumbai (INDIA) had purchased an electronic Peavey Crossover. Model - XD - 2/3/4 bearing serial no - 11119192 . & a number MFG LOC - 07 00480302/AA120. I am very happy with the performance, but need to replace the Gain control on the left channel as it is damaeged. All I need is the value (Details) of that control or a Peavey service center address in Mumbai if any.
    Thanking You

    Savio Rodricks

While not familiar with this unit I beleive you are right assuming that
you need to be working with a line level signal(post preamp) not a mic
level signal
there are several ways to do this
I also do not know your board or how convoluted a layout you are willing
to go through
Most boards that people who use compressors own(for live pa) have post
preamp "insert"points
failing that you can put your mic on channel 1 and send its signal to
the comp via the aux buss(not raising the channel one fader, but instead
send the signal out the aux to the compressor, then take the out of the
compressor into channel two(which you will not send any aux singal
from) and use the channel 2 fader as your mix level
or you could route the mic to a outboard preamp then compressor then
mixer input

if you hav e subgroups the mic channel could send out a subgroup to the
comp
the only thing you do not want to do(for live pa) is place the comp
after the main mix out

Only one channel works on my amp. ?

It depends on brand and size amp... what type of amp. Ask yourself...if it was cheap when you purchased it. It may be cheaper to buy a new one. Please tell me what type and brand. We can go from there.

Peavey XR 1212 You may find helpful info from the Peavey site. I'm not sure how you want to configure your setup, but the tape out may be able to feed the power amp.

Component speaker not working

The easiest thing to test is to try swapping the connections of the front component speakers at the amp connections. If the problem follows the speakers, the issue is probably with the speakers. I would triple check (again) the speaker wire connections. It's also possible the crossover for the driver side component speakers has an issue (thus why the tweeter worked for a while).

If the problem stays on the drivers side, the issue is probably with that channel on the amp. Triple check the RCA connections for that channel.

It's much easier to test other speakers on an amp channel versus trying to check it with a meter.

If the driver's door is "abused" often, my initial thought is the wiring at the speaker or the wiring in the speaker (to voice coil, within the crossover, etc) is the most likely culprit.

Hooking up a new 8" woofer speaker to my amplifier

If I'm reading the amp manual right, you should be able to connect the amp in 3 channel mode. To do this:
  • Connect both left door speakers in parallel to Ch A Left.
  • Connect both right door speakers in parallel to Ch A Right.
  • Bridge Ch B and connect it to the new 8" sub.
  • Set the Ch A LPF/HPF to HPF.
  • Set the Ch B LPF/HPF to LPF.
This should allow you to run all 4 door speakers and the sub from the amp. It will also automatically route non-bass to the door speakers and "only bass" to the sub.

Problem with the setup of the mono bi amp feature using peaveys cs3000h amplifier

My recommendation would be to double check the back of you crossover and make sure everything is hooked up correctly. If you crossover is convertible like my DBX223 xl is from Stero to Mono and Three way to two way the connections on the back changes roles.
