HP screen and battery fix...

My HP dv8000 has a ruined screen - it was hit or closed on something and now parts of the screen are black and green. Does anyone know how much it would cost to replace the screen?
Also, it doesn't stay on when off the power cord. As soon as I unplug it, it shuts down completely. It used to be able to stay on battery power for about 35 minutes but now it can't be taken off the power cord.
Anyone have any solutions to these problems?

Where can I buy a lower price HP PAVILION DV8000

It's much better to buy the battery from the manufacturer's website. The transaction is a lot safer and reliable. Take there are two categories of battery the ORIGINAL and REPLACEMENT. Normally the highe mAh capacity has the longer battery life. The price of REPLACEMENT batteries are much lower than the ORIGINAL batteries.

Laptop will not boot, nor will keyboard respond-- hp dv8000

There is a class action lawsuit currently being initiated against HP for this issue. The Complaint alleges that HP misrepresented and concealed material facts regarding certain laptops including a design defect, which causes the power jacks of the laptops to fail.
