This is normal function of the programs some programs do not reset your resolution so you may have to do it manually. candy land did this repeatedly in my daughters computer.

My monitor setting will not stay set on 32bit, it keep on going back to an low 8 bit setting that cause my colors to be off. How can I make this stay on the 32 bit. I have a Phillips 107MB 17 inch/CM2300...

The color bit depth is controlled by your PC Video card, monitor will show what it is being fed with. Please check to see if you have correct video card driver installed in your PC and the video card has enough memory to provide the 32bit color depth.

Pixels only goes to 640X480

When you cannot increase the screen resolution nor a higher color bit, this usually means the video driver has defaulted to standard VGA driver and 8 or 16 bit color.
Install or re-install the latest video driver for your model video card.
When the correct video driver is installed you will be able to change the screen resolution and 32 color bit.

In Your Desktop, Right Click -> Properties. In this Display Properties window, Click on Settings Tab.
Adjust the screen resolution to '1280 by 1024 pixels'.
Set Color Quality to 'Medium (16 bit)'
Then click on 'Advanced' Button. In Monitor Tab, Set the Screen Refresh rate to 60 Hertz. Click Apply/Ok in both the settings windows. This will Solve your Problem. Else, Try setting Color Quality to 'Highest (32 bit)'.

The monitor only displays either 1920x1080 resolution with Low (8 bit) color or 800x600 with High (32 bit) color. I have uninstalled the video card and monitor drivers and reinstalled them a million...

It appears that your video card does not support that resolution and color depth. If you've installed all of the proper drivers from the manufacturer, re-check the maximum specs - sounds like you're looking for HD (1080) and the card can't deliver in full color (32 bit).
