What belt fits the hoover preferred?

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

In order to know the right belts to use for your Hoover cleaner, you would need to get either the model number of your unit or the part number of the belt. Hoover upright model number can be found either at the back or at the bottom of the unit while the part number can be found in the manual that came with your vacuum or you can do a quick search online. You may also contact Hoover (800) 944-9200 for further assistance.

You can purchase a wide variety of high quality Hoover replacement parts for your Hoover vacuum direct from Think Crucial with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for Fixya.com readers, use code: FIXYA10

Hoover Windtunnel model U6485200B troubleshooting brush not spinning

Hi! The brush-roll feature needs to be engaged for the belt to tighten, so when checking the belt it will appear to be loose. Be sure you have replaced both belts on the vacuum with genuine Hoover parts. This unit takes belt 38528034 and 38528035. Also, make sure the vacuum is on carpet mode. Follow the link to view the instruction manual which provides instructions and illustrations on changing the belt to be sure it is assembled properly.

Need to replace a belt on Hoover Model 5035-930 belt 38528-027 Also reattach bottom lift wheel (has clip that came out)

There are four retaining screws that hold the brush guard in place. Remove those screws and the guard comes right off the unit. After removing you will see the drive belt.Once you have taken off the old belt just give the new belt enough slack to get it onto the axle ( you'll probably need a flat head screw driver. However it shouldn't be that tight of a fit. Simle fix.
As for the height adjuster that is a common problem with those model vacuums. They just seem so break. I have an older unit myself, the piece you are referring to will continue to come apart or break no matter how many times its fixed.

Can not find a proper fitting v-belt to fit my hoover wind tunnel cyclonic. i even ordered it from hoover.

The correct belt is # 38528034 ( package # 40201200 ) This belt may seem loose when it is installed, because there is an "idler bearing" that pushes down on it when the handle is released and dropped back.

My Hoover U6439-900 also losing belts

When upside down there is no resistance,on carpet there is.
You need to try a a fresh, genuine hoover belt and buy a spare, belts stretch and slip after 30 -90 a days of normal use, often to 25-30% oversize Hoover belts generally fit very snug. If your belt looks shiny inside, that is likely the issue. Try that and post results

BELT TO THE BRUSH SEEMS TOO LOOSE EVEN WHEN REPLACED

Hoover U6437-900 U6439-900 Upright
LOOSE BELT. THE BELT IS STILL LOOSE EVEN AFTER REPLACING

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
The reason it seems like the belt is too big is probable correct, you may have the wrong size belt for your vacuum, use genuine belts – your particular model is a self propelled model and takes two (2) belts and they should stretch on very tightly and snug and it is smart to use the genuine belt package for the model that you have and we Recommended the belt change for flat belt(s) are 4 to 6 months for better cleaning
They should be tight on the belt pulleys in order to do the best cleaning – use genuine belts
