Ribbon cuts or stick over Id surface when printing with Eltron

Printing shows blurry printed image.
Possible Cause:
•Ribbon cartridge may not be correctly positioned.
Solution:
•Check that the ribbon is properly rolled onto the ribbon cores of the cartridge, with no wrinkles.
•Replace ribbon cartridge, making sure it locks in place, and print again.
Possible Cause:
•Ribbon may not be synchronized on the correct color panel position.
Solution:
•Open lid, then close lid to synchronize ribbon.
Possible Cause:
•Cards may not meet specifications.
Solution:
•Use a different supply of cards.
Possible Cause:
•Dust or embedded contamination inside the printer and/or dirty Cleaning Roller.
Solution:
•Clean the Print Head.
•Replace Cleaning Roller

My Eltron P310 card printer pulls in the ribbon alongwith the card, past the print head. Thanks for any advice

This error means that your printer machine is not working correctly so I would suggest you to go to the vendor.

Bad printhead or ribbon

Solid red light. This indicates the printer is in an error state and will not print until the error is cleared. Check to make sure the printer is not out of labels or out of ribbon if it is a TLP model.
A solid red light will occur if

• the printer is out of labels
• the printer is out of ribbon ( TLP models only )
• the printhead is open, not latched down all the way. Press down on the top cover of the printer to see if the error light clears and goes to green.
• the ribbon spool is slipping on the ribbon spool holder on TLP models:

Try looking for an option in printer driver Graphics settings which prohibits black panel printing

It could mean that the ribbon sensor on the printer is broken. Sounds like you need to send back to zebra for repair. This is free if printer is still under warranty. check out zebra's website for info on how to return printers for service.

u select the properties and search for tabs like card count,details etc and reset thecount to 0.im not sure about this answer this may work or may not be.

You can try to lower printhead setting values (color and black), if not resolved then try another ribbon, old ones trend to fail this way.

There could be either of the following issues:

1. Check the print head temperature to make sure that it is hot enough to transfer the ribbon to the card.

2. The surface of the PVC card may not be image compatible. Try another brand of card or opt to 60/40 composite cards for testing.
