Question about Lexmark C752dn Laser Printer
The printer prints several sheets (can even be tens of sheets) where each has couple of rows smilies/smiling face symbols. The print-outs only happen during the night time, and they do not originate from my machine. It does not happen every night, and during day time printing is normal. The problem has started before new year.
Server's event log has been checked, no print events during the nights has been logged for this printer. I have double checked printer's queue and event logs about printing and it was empty... This problem looks on some malware on the workstation side. Server is clear and also printer device seems ok.
Can you advice ???

Had this twice on an HP PS1000, went through a complete AV / Malware scan cycle last time without finding anything, this seems a more likely explanation as the last event coincided with losing connection to printer :

I would just run anti spyware or malware checks, and virus checks. I have avg internet, and avg antispyware, and i also have a usb stick with spybot searcha nd destroy which i only load on and use if infection is troublesome. IT is to date the only one to get rid of some really nasty spyware. I do not leave it running as i said, only the avg. There is also a free scan called housecall which will do a long deep scan and correct issues. It really sounds so typical of spyware infection. Once your pc the printer is attached to is clear it may stop.
