Durabrand DVD-1002 player

I can not find my manual and the DVD player seems to be stuck in the Progressive scan mode and will not play any dvds.

I, too, am having this problem. I accidentally hit the Setup button on my DVD player's remote and saw options I had never encountered before. Since I recently purchased a new LCD HDTV I thought maybe I could try progressive scan and see if there is any difference. I'm hooked up using a S-Video cable so maybe that's why I'm seeing a black screen with the DVD menu audio playing in the background. But I don't want to go to the store and buy new cables. I just want this mode shut off! I can't believe unplugging the DVD player didn't reset it. I need help!

Http://www.retrevo.com/ has this manual. It requires a free sign in, but they've got quite a few manuals and so far no spam.

You can go to the lenoxx site and get a manual but it won't help but ya it's dead. your dvd player is a peice of poo and died. best chance is a recall if there is one.

I was playing with settings on my Zenith xbv342 and set the menu to progressive scan. I now have a blue screen with the words "progressive scan mode" I cannot get a picture and it is stuck in this m

Progressive scan mode is used by DVD players to artificially scale standard resolution DVDs to HD resolution, usually 720i. Is your set capable of receiving HD resolution? If not, that is probably why you are getting the blue screen.

Doesnot play all my dvds

Try cleaning each disk before playing? Use a lint free cloth and wipe from center to edge of disk. Could be that those dvd's that won't play... won't play and are in fact damaged.

Dvd player will not play hd dvd

The product was made by company called Duraband and went out of business in December of 2007.

In order to play HD Dvds you need a player that states that on the player itself or on the box when you purchased it.

Progressive Scan

Hold the stop button for about 10 seconds. The other thing to do is move the video out cable at the back of the DVD to one of the component outs (there are three of them one for each color rgb) you will be able to read the menu again. turn off progressive scan and reconnect the video cable to dvd out

Locked into progressive scan AND Setup is Unavailable

The key is to make sure you REMOVE all DVDs and VCRs from the player, then hold the stop button on the unit down for 5 seconds.
