Colour problems with projector

Viewsonic projector PJ506D DLP Projector
with laptop using windos xp display set to high 32 bit.
the colours just dont appear on the projection as they do on the laptop screen.
I have tried adjusting the colour,
I the RGB/photgraphic setting
I have tried resetting factory settings (although this didn't seem to change the settings I had made to the colour etc)
what to do?

- Thanks catnip20 - if it was just a bit off I would be happy but with a photo of lovely red sunset clouds I get a gloomy greenygrey thunder clouds. manipulating the cable to projector cable like an aerial can improve things. The projector can project red - its instruction panel screens have red. It just wont reproduce red from the computer.

-   The red does not show up on red on through my projector - it's more black than anything. Also the green shows yellow. Really I can only see yellow, black, and blues. I've done everything to reseting to factory setting and everything. Also it's not as bright as it should be - I can barely see it if the lights are on.-   tifftr

In short If the reds show as red, The greens show as green & Blue shows as blue. I would say thats as good as it can project. It's hard to judge color without seeing it for ones self but usually DLP projectors that use a colorwheel do not have perfect color.
