Unfortunately the Recovery partition could not be reacreated manually. But you can recover it by using the Y410 Recovery Disc but that means reinstalling everything and youll end up with windows vista again. You can reinstall XP but do not delete the partition that usually has 10-15GB of space because that is the hidden partition for the recovery. You can call 18774536686. If your computer is out of warranty, it would only cost you 59$ for the recovery disc

Your Recovery partition got corrupted after you installed XP. What you can do is to call their support number its 1 877 737 1082 to request a copy of recovery disc. it will cost you $39 plus the support to help load the OS / drivers/software for Lenovo.

Hi All\r\n\r\nReq. to all please provide me confirmation regarding "one key recovery" firstly i must tell you i am using netbook lenovo "s10 series windows 7, now if i format hard disk(C:)...

Hi Nishant,
I saw you post about the One Key Recovery on your S10-3 system and I would like to Help.
You mentioned that you have an S10-3 system and that it has Windows7 on it and that you want to install Windows XP on it.
I guess that can be possible as long as you do not delete / format the partition where the One Key Recovery is located your One Key Recovery can still be utilized once you may need to set the system back to factory defaults, the Partition where the One Key Recovery will sometimes be name Lenovo Recovery Partition and cannot be seen in windows since it is a hidden partition only seen when doing an installation of windows using a retail Windows Installation cd.
Just to add about the OKR or One Key Recovery once you downgrade to XP and you use the One Key Recovery it will restore the system back to factory defaults then windows7 will be the operating system again on your s10-3

Hi nishantsi762,

You can still use the One Key Recovery after formatting your drive C and installing XP. Just make sure that you will not reformat the whole hard drive because One Key Recovery image is in the hidden partition of your hard disk.

Hope it helps,

Thank you for using Fixya.

Deleted Vista Recovery Partition. Now XP installer can't read HDD

if you have created recovery disk before the deleting of the recovery partition u can format the drive from your bios and create a new recovery partition using the recovery disk if not if your pc has crashed and your recovery partition is gone u will have to get a new operating system software but if your pc is still stable just run the recovery manager and restore to factory settings and it will put recover partition back on your hard disk

Recovery partitions

You' want to set aside some space where to create these backups, they are generally 25% of the total drive space.

the assumption is that there is no data on the drive to save. During the install it will ask where you want to install windows, if there are existing partitions delete them all. Then create one partition and specify it to be 75% of the drive (or whatever you prefer). Leave the rest unpartitioned.

Select the partition you created to install windows on.

Once you have installed windows and all the drivers etc, format the rest of the drive in Disk management (part of Computer management in Control Panel). Finally install your favourite software to create backup restore images, and set it to save on the partition you created.

NOTE: you will still need to back up on some external media, if the drive fails all data will be lost.

Hope this helps

One key recovery not working

This problem exist because once the 31GB default partition is formatted NTFS, it reduces in size. So, I found this solution.

1. Boot your machine with Ubuntu LiveCD
2. Go to Disk Utility and remove the C partition (31GB) and do not format it. Just RAW partition.
3. Now, Power off your lenovo Y410.
4. Press the NOVO key to start OneKey recovery and follow the prompts

You should get an option to recover sucessfully.

Enjoy
