The sound on the camera or the sound when you put it on your computer? I used to have this camera (and i absolutley LOVED it, but i dropped it one too many times) and I remember that there was no audio for the videos when you played them back on the camera, but once you put them into quicktime, or whatever you use, you could hear it. I warn you though, the sound quality isnt that great. Also, if you are trying to use it with iMovie the sound will not work, with any Sony camera because the format of the videos is not supported with sound by iMovie.

Hi, i had the same problem 4 ages. every time i tried to playback my videos there was no sound, i did so many videos trying to get the sound going and then i played them on my computer and ther was sound, :) lol i felt like such an idiot when i found out there's no speaker on the camera it self.
the sound is being recorded but the camera cannot play it back as it has no speaker.
if the camera is connected to a t.v. it will play with sound.
the only exception to this is some zoom modes will disable the sound when used.
